The head of the Portland Police, Chief Outlaw, I kid you not, proposes bringing in an anti mask law similar to the ones enacted in the South decades ago, against similar groups.

ANTIFA supporters kicking up a stink.

No marks at protests which are usually violent. The police can't identify law breakers and it gives people a feeling that they can get away with assaulting others.

Love how quickly the "freedom" loving brigade will accept stupid laws. It's why right wingers are so susceptible to authoritarianism.

If you want the cops to police how people dress then you lose the right to claim to be pro freedom.

*resists urge to post laughing memes again*

Says the poster that is authoritarian. If you support parties that Communism/Socialism and support groups that suppress free speech then YOU are the authoritarian.

Sorry, "you lose your right to be pro freedom"? Who's taking that right away from me? You?

Prefect example of the pathological tendency of progressives to project.

Ban this, no platform that, censor this etc ...then they accuse others of authoritarianism.

And that's the perfect example of the attitude supported and promoted by the Alt-Right spin machine, Trump and Fox news. Everyone who disagrees is either a socialist, a liar or a snowflake.

De platforming etc is not censorship, it's private companies deciding what is best for their brand. Censorship is only when the government is involved. Like cops telling people what to wear. False equivalence once again.

I actually doubt I'll listen to that. Too busy.
You're probably too busy to read this, but here is some evidence of which you speak.

Mayor Wheeler is also the chief of Police. Kind of an archaic law that goes back a while. After recent disturbances in the city and attacks on Ngo, he went on to issue a memo with the title "Thank you" to all the police that were working.

He has been criticized by Portland police association president Daryl Turner,
allowing the clashes between Antifa and the Proud Boys, and has asked the mayor to remove the handcuffs from their officers and let them stop the violence through strong and swift enforcement action.

As we've seen in DC recently, when the police do their jobs its very easy to stop the violence.

Reminiscent to what happened to Brett Weinstein at Evergreen college last year, police were told to stand down in the face of an aggressive imposing far-left hate mob.

(Skip 1m55s for part about police being told to stand down)

I’m going to refer posters to the mod warning in post #829 (as referenced in the thread title). Posting in a style designed to inflame others will result in mod action. If you can’t engage in debate, then stay quiet.

Apologies, I had a longer response written out instead of the smilies but it took too long as I was in work so deleted it. Mea culpa.

What do you consider as evidence? The Portland police association president's word does not count?

    THEIR JOBS!

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

Sky news glorifying terrorism- (18 months ago) in Portland, even then the police viewed Antifa as dangerous masked rioters. Notice how sky news follows around a group of menacing thugs harassing children, and yet calls them freedom fighters.

Strange they didn't attack the sky news crew considering they attack journalists for no reason.

That's the rule... portray antifa in the light of freedom fighters, or you get attacked.

All this far right v far left stuff needs to come to a head. It is very dangerous. After a TV diet of the Charles I documentary and The Handmaid's Tale bridged by the news of yet another attempt to frame Iran this evening, it is safe to say the world is at risk of spiralling out of control similar to the programmes I ssaw before and after the 'news' and America needs a new leader to replace Supreme Leader John Bolton. Since Bolton extorted Trump in April 2018, he ripped apart America and has been replacing it with his nightmare KKK state bit by bit. Bolton should be arrested and sent to trial for war crimes, extorting a president and for hijacking a state. Bolton is a champion for KKK, Neo Nazism and the abused Tea Party extremism and is a justification for the likes of Antifa. Time for this American dictator to go. NOW.
