Forward that to government offices. They could use that as spin in the future .

I can see it. Something like.

If the EU collapses Hitler will come back and world war 3 will start.

Do you think Britain will declare war on the EU after Brexit or vice versa?

So you don't think that's a legitimate concern at all? Why not? The EU has resulted in the longest stretch of peace time on our continent. Do you think that's a coincidence? Look at the people in charge in the UK right now, they are all either insane or incompetent.

He should definitely consider going somewhere

Expect a substantial rise in your living costs and possibly an increase in your income tax in 2020s budget. A blind man can see this coming.

Throw in some carbon tax increases on top

You might be looking for somewhere else yourself.
I think I can handle an extra €10 a week in tax if it happens

Says the poster wishing for all this and much worse, but who doesn't want to pay taxes.

Yes exactly. I won't be here. Who would want to be here when the shït hits the fan.
Years of government pïssing money away will come back to bite everyone in the backside.

The hard working obedient people of Ireland screwed yet again but when the election comes around there is no viable alternative. Basket case
    Aah we will miss you

Saying it for months but I'm afraid the EU will do what serves their own financial interests first and could care less about Ireland. Massive rude awakening incoming for many.

Prepare to be slated for saying that.

What if they grew these drugs in their back garden and didn't sell them to anyone?

Would you view a GP prescribing opioid based drugs and getting bungs for free holidays and golf trips from the pharmaceutical company they are linked to as being a good mix for society?

Ireland is the EU. If we have to do what is in our own interests, it will be done. And if you are living here it will cost you too.

    Think about who caused it.

We are only 1% of the EU, and we will have to do what's in the EUs interest. Same as what happened after the bust when we had to take on so much European bank debt.
We now have homelessness, a massive accommodation problem, one of the highest debts per capita in the world etc.

You do know a lot of that unwound quite quickly as we showed we could behave ourselves unlike the Greeks who just played silly buggers.

Behave ourselves by increasing our national debt from 50 billion to 200 billion ? Wait until they put up interest rates again
Which they will, at a time to suit themselves.

Saying it doesn't make it true. It's the Euro they protect and the EU tends to prefer the status quo as long as no rules are broken. You keep making these statements and offer no evidence for it.

There's talk of them raising the state pension too, one of the most generous on the face of the EU, nearly double what hard working UK people get. Grey vote is clearly big at the expense of the rest of us.

Is there a website that publishes the results of decisions made by the EU.

Different laws and rules that they make. That kind of thing. Rules they make that all countries have to follow. Or is it all done behind closed doors

That wasn't from banking, that was for day to day funding. They don't just suit themselves. Interest rate changes are well flagged. 2020 may see a rise but it could well be 2021 now.

There are posters all over this site who will focus on the bad and refuse to see the bigger picture of membership. Some of them do it because it galls them to see the UK criticised by the ungrateful Paddies.

Not sure what you are looking for. This is the Commission website.
    https://ec.europa.eu/commission/index_en
Legal rulings would be from the ECJ

The EU/Ireland is steadfast on the Backstop and has been since it was negotiated into the Withdrawal Agreement. We have that evidence to date and all you, and the doomsayers, have is a prediction of betrayal - that's literally all you have.

You people are the ones who are almost certainly in for a rude awakening.

The germans set the interest rates to suit themselves, we are insignificant. During the boom they left the interest rates too low, because Gernany needed that, but it just put fuel on property lending here. Then in 06 , 07, 08 they raised interest rates a lot, crippling our economy when we needed high interest rates least. Do you know what effect even just a 2% rise will have on our economy now?

Let's throw our lot in with Boris who is turning into a dictator by the day. They are going to waste another week trying to get basic democracy working in the UK.

    Rogue nation.

I must have missed the violent coup and jailing of opposition party members

The sad reality is that interest rates in the Eurozone will stay low for years and years to come.

How deep in to negative rates is the only question.

The damage and effects of this low interest rates will take years to straighten out.

The Commission makes proposals and they have to go through the EU parliament which passes them. That part is transparent enough. Then you have the Council of Ministers who represent individual governments. They are generally involved in EU wide policies. Fishing, CAP and the EU budget are examples where they need to agree and vote. Mercosur is another one.
