Is this the first time a politician has resigned to spend less time with their family?

Up and down the UK this is a decision people will be making come the election.

And it doesn't augur well for the fantasists of Brexit tbh. Faced with taking the actual plunge...the UK has backed off each and every time.

Comon now lads and lasses you can dress it up any way that you want but they voted to leave and should have been gone in March.

Of course they should and good riddance. They are the ones delaying it because they can't agree among themselves where to go.

I don't get it didn't they already pass a bill under May to stop a No-Deal Brexit?

It's the default scenario if you don't reach a deal and the EU don't give a further extension. Does it mean the Government have to withdraw article 50 if the EU won't play ball?

No, the people asked to leave, the few hundred in parliament who are supposed to represent them are holding things back.

I don't think they passed any legislation, they just had a vote on whether the parliament would be in favour of no deal but it wasn't binding AFAIK.

Halloween? Not doubting your ability to be smug, just wondering if you have any idea what year?

It doesn't have to be true, he just needs to keep repeating it as form of comfort to those who really have no idea what's going on at all. It gives the impression that they know what they are doing!

And that is Brexit in a nutshell.

Jacob Rees Mogg compares doctor who warned public about medicine shortages to Andrew Wakefield, the doctor who made up data claiming autism was caused by vaccines. The doctor in question is David Nicholls, author of the governments own Yellowhammer papers which assessed the damage of a no deal on medicines. Mogg is an extremely dangerous ideologue.

That's doctor is talking out of his ass. The UK imports generic medicines from the EU, that's it. There are other sources & they have already stockpiled. The EU on the other hand, buys a shed load of specialist medicines from the UK. Medicine wise, the EU needs the UK. There will be no shortages. All of the scaremongering about fuel, food shortages and medicine is complete BS and easily debunked. And people attack the leavers for lies???

The way things are at the moment, the rest of the EU will be very happy too. It'll be like frazzled parents finally getting the misbehaving kids to bed.

Even with the problems it's likely to cause Ireland, at least we can get on with dealing with them and leave the British xenophobic zeitgeist and the Westminster clown show for the historians to pour scorn over.

In general, if you take two men-one a doctor working in public health and the other a hedge-fund manager- which one is more likely to be concerned about the welfare of sick people?

Incidentally, said hedge fund manager has never changed a nappy despite having half a dozen children.

Kinda mad how some people just "drink the kool-aid".

The same way that people don't notice when UK politicians gloat about the impact that no deal will have on Irish goods being delayed when coming through the land bridge via Dover.....................but at the same time insisting that technology will mean there is not delays when asked about UK goods.

Surely you understand how borders work? Have you never been abroad? What about visiting the big schmoke up in Dublin? Travelled beyond the limits of your local village?
