Being English and apparently living and working in Ireland.

When are the Irish government going to tell us how bad this will be

    The night before?
Its going to be grand, there's no need to worry

That's doctor is talking out of his ass. The UK imports generic medicines from the EU, that's it. There are other sources & they have already stockpiled. The EU on the other hand, buys a shed load of specialist medicines from the UK. Medicine wise, the EU needs the UK. There will be no shortages. All of the scaremongering about fuel, food shortages and medicine is complete BS and easily debunked. And people attack the leavers for lies???

Only buy generic medicines? What are you talking about?

Glivec, Lantus, Botox, Lipitor and Viagra are all made in Ireland.

    Really ??

What pharmaceuticals are actually manufactured in the UK ??

I'm not talking about offices, HQ's, sales staff etc. I mean actual pharmaceutical manufacturing plants that make small and large molecule pharmaceuticals ??

Go on and have a look..

    Its essentially none..

Read an article this morning saying that the briefing the ministers got last night (papers for which were then collected again - can't have the peasants know what's really happening!) suggested things will be a lot worse than the story presented so far.

This game of chicken being played will leave Ireland right in the firing line if Boris/the UK doesn't cave (which seems to be our/Europe's "strategy").

Hate to nitpick with Boris but Paisley never said anything about the people being British...they identified as 'British'. Of himself he emphatically said:

Incidentally, said hedge fund manager has never changed a nappy despite having half a dozen children.

He was lying back with his eyes closed on the front bench the other night and I was going to defend him by saying maybe he was up half the night with a child teething.

Thought the better of it though. :pac:

The Dr. in question (Dr. David Nicholl) is a Neurologist with a specialty in treating Epilepsy. The drugs he knows about have a short shelf life afaik and aren't readily stockpile. JRM's compared him, in Parliament, to the odious criminal Andrew Wakefield. Nicholl's responded with "Say that outside Parliament and I'll sue you."
    JRM won't - besides being a Dickensian cosplayer, he's a puling coward.

Most of the large molecule drugs have short shelf lives and very specific storage requirements. Vaccines, new Chemo drugs, all the biologics etc.

The UK also need to look at the drug approval process, this was all done by the EU but .....

Can you explain other the claims of back ups at dover what the EU plans to do to stop UK people getting such drugs.

EU wouldn't last a week if they tried such as stroke, deal or no deal

Pip pip. Tally ho. Britannia rules the waves old boy!

I'm worried that you are actually serious and not just taking the piss. You seem to think that even in the worst case scenario, the UK will be fine but the EU won't last a week.......I'd be curious to know the source of your analysis.

Do you not realize that any delays on items coming to UK will be because of UK customs and borders? Nothing to do with the EU. Of course, they can have a special lane for trucks. A kind of honour code where you can use that lane and avoid hours of delays and bypass all checks if you say you are bringing in a few boxes of medicine............be handy for any lad wanting to smuggle in a few oul' prohibited items or substances.

I'm starting to think you actually believe what you say too which is amazing. The EU is a tin pot club which isn't anywhere near as close or as strong as you think.

UK is bar far the strongest military in the Eurozone, a permanent member of the security council, home of THE global financial capital and has full support as we have seen of Washington and the majority of its own people. This is about to turn full circle and it would be wise to expect it and not keep bleeping about some club of 27 as it it is unified.

The UK does not have the most personnel or the strongest military in the EU that would be France.

France and Germany also have more personnel

But hey who needs facts when you can just make random statements with nothing to back them up, in fact you would probably fit in well with the current UK cabinet

None of which has gotten them anywhere in 3 long years.

The EU, still united as they were 3 years ago.

    Time to switch sides Crypto.

    1) Not the strongest military member. That would go to France or Germany, depending on how you look at it.

    2) France is also a permanent member of the security council

    3) London's role as financial capital is seriously jeopardised in a no-deal Brexit.

    4) Full support of Washington is bullsh*t. Plenty have said no deal if the peace process is threathened. UK will be the US's b*tch in a no deal.

    5) Support of it's own people? Sure Scotland want's to leave, NI will probably be sold down the river.

Also any support from Trump is because he wants a weak Europe, he sees a strong EU as an economic threat to US.
