So it's only democracy when it suits?

If the will of the people is now 52 - 48 to remain, how is that not democracy?
The last Referendum was 52 / 48 to leave . Why has that Democracy not been Honoured .
Do not take for granted that the British people would vote to remain in another referendum . Remain was ahead in the Polls the last time as well . The British are not lapdogs they will not appreciate their democracy not been respected . they are not Irish .

Re Lies . David Cameron said he would go to the Eu ( before the referendum ), get a deal from the Eu and that if he did not he would back Leave . He Lied about this . A Pretty Big Lie if you Ask Me .

Re-Main also told many lies . Politicians tell lies = who Knew ?

And Ann Widdecombe, don't forget Anne.
Anne is only in the Door and she has already made more impact that 99.9% of MEPs ever had or ever will . The Meps ( 650) have won the lottery and they just want to keeping stacking up their euros . Its not as if they are doing anything else .

Your credibility died right at that point.

The Republic of Ireland is a democratic nation state. Your failure to accept that points to multiple other issues

Ah sure they're fine with just suspending parliament and forcing this though in a country that's fundamentally a parliamentary democracy and where the executive is supposed to be absolutely accountable to parliament and lives within parliament and in a situation where the PM would be from a party that wouldn't even hold a majority.

We all know democracy works by voting once and then having absolute dictatorship based on that vote for ever and ever, right?

I mean we had a vote on our constitution in 1937 and it's been locked into law ever since, never to be changed again, right? Other than the 36 referenda to amended it over the years.

I mean you had the first UK general election in 1708 and the Whigs won. Isn't that good enough for you?

If the Brexiteers are so confident that they understand the will of the British people, then surely they'd have complete confidence in being able to win a general election or a second referendum.
The Referendum has not been respected . You can’t really have referendums if you do not accept the democratic decision of the people .

An 'elected' politician in a democracy which is not a lapdog tells lies and 'de people who is not lapdogs I tells ya', elect the same party in again?

It was an indicative non binding vote. The time for a binding democratic vote is now. The Deal is on the table and the British people can make an informed choice based on facts not the bullsh1t they were fed.

    How is that undemocratic?

The British Government of the Time said it would be implemented . David Cameron as prime Minister , Theresa May as Prime Minister , Jeremy Corbyn as Leader of the Opposition all said that the Referendum result would be implemented .

In the General election 83% of the People Voted for parties that said they would Implement the Referendum result .

With The Referendum Result , The most that ever Voted for anything In Britain ; Why is that Not enough Democracy for Brexit for You .

Fuhrer Merkel decrees that this failed politician gets this Job and the Lapdogs say Yeah Wohl !

Merkel was pushing for Timmermans apparently. So she didnt get what she wanted.

Do you ever stop and just think that 'wow, theres so much I dont know and understand. I should actually research things before soapboxing'. You should.

Also, referring to Merkel as the Führer is totally unacceptable.

It is deeply disrespectful to the German people. I have a German business associate who has bought a business here, as he loves the country, and I have seen him wince, as if in pain, when this title is used. Very sad to see or hear Irish people (who should know better) do it.

That isn't undemocratic, asking the same question again is though.

If they run a referendum again with 3 options as you suggested

    No Brexit
    No Deal
    Deal.

The majority have all ready spoken and they voted for Brexit, ignorance is no real excuse. Democracy isn't perfect. I for the life of me can't see any sort of path to another referendum anyway.

Nothing undemocratic asking them how they want to leave though.

    No Deal
    Take the Deal.

    winking ironically??

She's a troll/piss artist/wind-up merchant like all the rest of the Brexit party MEPs.

I listened to her bile yesterday and noticed another one of them had a little talisman (I think) with the "Guido Fawkes" website logo on his/her desk! What a bad joke it all is.

upper class and ignorant, definitely. Likening brexit to slave emancipation is definitely off the wall, but please help me out with the bigot part.

    I never said otherwise.

I will add though it is parliament that are preventing the exit not the British people, they got their vote.

She's claimed that science might produce an answer to homosexuality:
Ann Widdecombe has come under fire after she suggested science could "produce an answer" to being gay.

In an interview on Sky News, the newly elected Brexit Party MEP was asked about previous comments she made concerning gay conversion therapy.

    ...

Labour MP Luke Pollard said Ms Widdecombe was "continuing her sick anti-LGBT campaign".

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-48491731

I do try and be precise with my language but I do feel that the b-word is appropriate here. I understand that most of the 17.4 million Leave voters aren't racist, stupid or hateful but placing someone like Widdecombe in such a prominent role really helps to give that impression.

You see this is where the argument against a second referendum breaks down.

First, the UK had a non binding referendum where they voted to leave. Theresa May took office and triggered article 50, the first step in implementing the will of the people. Then she began negotiating the withdrawal agreement, the second step.

Now the UK parliament is in deadlock because they don't like any of the options laid in front of them. So 1 of 2 things can happen now, either they keep blindly fighting amongst themselves and get nowhere, effectively committing economic suicide. OR, they can put the options back to the people, asking them to say which option they would like to pursue, one of those options would be remain.

The second referendum is far more democratic than you or any brexiteer is willing to admit.

Yeh, apologies...I wasn't having a go at you.

The British people are culpable as parliament is, in so much as they sent so many Brexit Party MEPs to the EU. Not all of parliament is blocking the deal as not all of the people are.

You don’t think that a General Election should be the first order of Business . Let the Public give their opinion on the MPs that have failed to deliver Brexit .

Let's see the manifestos that the Parties will present at a General Election .

There is no way these MPs should be allowed to bring forward a second referendum until the public give their verdict on them .
