So you are waiting for a group of people to die and then will demand money for 20 years?

NI sells an awful lot more to Britain then to the EU and Ireland. The only hope is this dream that the UK will enter a long depression (Lolz).

Imagine if the UK does well, and like now even the nationalists would in many numbers vote for the status quo. Imagine them given a choice between prosperity and their romantic ideals?

Something like 87% of NI exports to the U.K. go through Dublin.

That all stops when brexit happens no deal as you keep fantasising about. Farming business and trade in NI comes to an immediate stop.

    Square that circle.

How does the UK do well in a no deal scenario? Genuine question, in what way will the UK be doing well? What would you consider to be "doing well" that would make no deal worth it?

In the same way it did well after the vote that was instantly meant to see 700k job loses. It will be doing well in comparison to the EU.

The UK economic model is primed to do well globally with it's soft power, hard power, influence, services, culture and global outlook. A brief period of adjustment is nothing and doesn't phase people with a pro business, entrepreneurial outlook.

The remainers have a very tiny window, of some very minor data, to scream HAHA, DOOMED before they will stupid again.

Plus, we all know the EU won't be long before they are back at the table, they can't afford to have the UK as a hostile neighbour.

Oh and they won't be holding medicine and food in France, they try that trick, they all that says is they are desperate and on their last legs. You hear murmurs of that, put your mortgage on the EU collapsing.

They will do a deal, and the UK needs that deal to be made after a no deal for it to be a fair deal for the UK.

NI has options to ship to the UK but Ireland doesn't have the same options to ship to france. It is Ireland who is weak here.

    Oh god.
Please read up before you post nonsense.
We’ve rerouted supply lines to the mainland of Europe and have two new ferries on order with a 5km capacity each on top of the brand new one we just received.

NI ports (the one main port it has) doesn’t have the capacity nor the ships to keep the supply chain from breaking.

Ni industry uses Dublin airport rather than Belfast as it too doesn’t have the capacity or ability to function as part of the supply chain.

Please stop talking nonsense and at least read something will you before posting such easily dismantled fictitious crap

But didn't give a hoot about ireland a decade back or in its previous demands to make ireland vote again.

The EU never demanded that we have a second referendum, our government decided on a second referendum and demanded reassurances from the EU on a number of issues that came up in the first referendum campain. Our government made the political judgement that those reassurances would be enough to get the referendum through and they were proved correct in their judgement. But whatever you do, don't let the truth get in the way of repeating your false soundbytes.

I've heard a few clowns go on about these super arks that Dublin will be shipping to france but we all know this is a long way off.

We also know the UK has the resources to move ships and air cargo in and out of the north if needed. Ireland doesn't have that option for goods from france and won't for a long time.

When are the 2 arks coming? 2

The actually do. Since Boris has come in the dynamic has changed and the more bullish he is the more they are concerned. The remain parliament is all they have to give them hope, so post the next election you will see the whole thing cave as they realise they have to play ball with the UK.

Or as remainers have been saying, they will block vital medicine at calais for weeks on end to show whos boss...:p

The EU has been moments away from caving at every step for the last three years, and yet has not caved to date. What makes you think you are right this time when you were wrong every other time? You sound like a deluded fanatic.

I was never wrong here and please grow up, get over the May period, it's gone.

Her deal, is gone, it never passed parliament and is worthless, it means nothing.

Boris is here now, and the mood of the nation is behind him and against the remainer parliament. Dela with the issues in front of you and stop looking back.

The backstop is gone, it's no deal, time limit backstop, unilateral exit backstop or as you call it , a unicorn.

Take your pick. There is no EU backstop.

    Choose.

    Dave beat me to it.

Care to show us any prof NI ports or airports can deal with trade out of NI in a no deal??

Hint. They can’t. They can’t at all

dude, listen to yourself. No, check that. This is a logistical problem. Not a logistical problem like the border in Ireland, but a simple equation. Supply/demand. One way or another, the UK landbridge will be replaced, if necessary.

That's assuming of course that Jackboot Johnson actually follows through on his outlandish threat to wage economic war on Ireland and by extension, the EU. Do you really want the UK to prevent our goods travelling overland from Europe? Do you actually live here?

Is that the best you can do?

What ships will the U.K. mobilize?

They can’t even organise their own shipments from Europe and £15 billion in added customs paperwork just announced today.

Tell me again how that’s gonna work

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 4,850 ✭✭✭Stop moaning ffs

If NI trade in ports and airports were able to go through Belfast airport and stranraer they would always have been.

Fact is they can’t. As those ports can’t handle the volume.

Why crypto in your infinite wisdom might that be

I don't want any of this hassle but I am also not taking part on this green jersey, bash the brits nonsense. Brexit is happening and the UK will not sign any open ended backstop. That is all I have said and the rest has been the wild ideas of the posters who can't comprehend that the UK in the words of Meatloaf, can do anything for a deal, but they can't do that.

You know the posters don't have a clue on the topic when they are not reading my posts and are still saying things like remain will win a 2nd ref, there will even be a 2nd ref or that they will for a group to win the next election.

Spend time on the ground in the UK, it's happening, no never ending backstop. The penny has dropped in the EU.

So, whatcha gonna do, all deals are on the table except the trap backstop.

Let's be logical and move forward, stop the day dreaming.

I do think the EU and Leo are so shook that two months ago they were still hoping for they would lock the UK into this dream deal, maybe even 3 weeks ago they still believed...but its gone now.

The UK has to go no deal if something isn't agreed without that backstop, and that means Ireland is in for a horrible economic shock. Leo needs to take it on the chin and either take the time limit or something else that still gives the UK a chance to be independent...then you might see a deal pass parliament.

Cut the fantasy and talks of arks lads and be real.

We’ve Boris coming begging bowl again to Dublin on Thursday.

Border in the sea eternal backstop.

    Please stick around crypto.

Dying to see How you’re gonna spin that.

it isn't if it falls flat and you don't break the UK or Leo doesn't get his unicorn lock in backstop. He will get neither.

    Haha, sure sunshine.

You fail to grasp the basics and the national security issues that means the backstop will never happen. Also, the EU is too pi$$ weak to start picking fights with the UK and stopping food and medicine at calais. That would be a global PR disaster that will end them.
