And it would have been easy if only those pesky ungrateful wee countries had not stood up for themselves and doffed the hat like the old days.

i know! they are so ungreatful!

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.

Link please or are you just making that up?

Did you not look at, and listen to, your own "secret" video?

    Here is what is said:
strategic and tactical reason which is using Ireland for future negotiations. [inaudible] Ireland, and to not close this point, to leave it open. for the next 2 or 3 years. And in that case we will face clearly permanent pressure on the negotiations for trade. the single market, because of Ireland. And we have to be careful what the reaction will be of the European Council and the member states.

Some eejit cropped that recording from somewhere and tells you it show Barnier being the personification of the evil EU and you want to believe it so you do. If he posted it saying it showed Barnier was one of the lizard people taking over the world, you'd have believed that too.

The video is a blatent hatchet job trying to misrepresent Mr Barnier.

Firstly it opens in the middle of a sentance, obscuring the context of what is being said. The sub titles at the start include words not actually heard in the video itself and the content of what is said clearly indicate that far from intending to do the things they are discussing, they are infact concerned that they might happen.

The cherry on top is that what the video tries to present the EU as doing is infact exactly what the UK was doing at the time, using Ireland for tactical reasons, trying to isolate Ireland, leave the border issue as an open point for years to come so as to use it as leverage to apply "permanent pressure on the negotiations for trade".

The EU was not trying to isolate Ireland, it was standing full square behind Ireland. It was not trying to leave the Irish question as an open point to use as pressure in trade negotiations, it was trying to close the point before trade negotiations started.

It's stock Brexiteer misrepresentation, prevalent since the beginning of this whole process.
The stars have aligned to have all the big bad boogeymen as EUers and all the UK as earnest diplomats fighting off the dastardly Europeans.

    Gas stuff altogether.

Three PM's later with an idiot in charge, the most patriotic thing the clowns above could have done was collectively apologise to the British public and resigned from public life for good.

It's astonishing reading what the children on the "internet right" have to say about any political situation. Their heads are filled up with the most ridiculous bullshit, shovelled into them by **** they listen to on YouTube.

None of them would have a clue what a real Conservative was if it bit them on the arse.

    :pac:

What's even scarier is their vote cast for the Irish Freedom Party, Identity Ireland or whatever assorted cranks worm out of the woodwork to appear on a ballot is exactly the same worth as anyone else's. You've got to love Democracy sometimes.

It will take a much longer time in Ireland. We as a nation have gotten very very left leaning. It doesn't help that Irish conservatives are having their right to free speech taken away from them, ask Justin Barrett (leader of the National Party) who had his Twitter account deleted with no reason given (cannot find one link to support that, how surprising, but it is easily verifiable)
What does having his hateful bile shut down on Twitter have to do with free speech? Is someone stopping him spill bile?

Unlike the decades long journey for military tech, we are gonna see about the trade deals very very soon, so we won't have to wait to see whos right.

It will be me, and it will be fine.

It took the UK three years to agree a simple withdrawal agreement to just cover three areas, money owed, citizen rights and the Irish border.

Now They think today they can conclude a comprehensive trade deal in eleven months.
When every other trade deal takes years and years. It's nothing but delusional based on indisputable facts.

Like many people in the UK and Europe, I'm glad that were finally moving forward with Brexit as the series just got tired.

I'm looking forward to next year after the transition simply to watch the disappointment of the Beckett's when they finally discover that the EU isn't too blame for their ails. That actually live doesn't get better for them.

In the brexiteer mind, this is VE day again, except unlike 1945 where they got to rebuild the UK, they just don't get to lose out all the advantages of the EU superclub.

These people are so stupid they will never realise that. They'll be fed the line that Johnny Foreigner did them in and screwed them out of the deals they were promised. It will just feed into more racist hate and bile spewing forth. The UK will become a horrible horrible place in the next 5yrs.

    Happy New Year folk.

3 years 6 months after the referendum.

8 months since the UK should have left the EU.
2 months since the UK should have left after their extension.

    Let's keep this circus going!

Will there yet be a spanner in the works before the end of January? Ones wonders and one wonders who will engineer it. One believes this is not quite over.

    Nothing wrong with them quotes.

Brexit only really started with Boris. Ollie Robbins and May was never looking for Brexit.

Enjoy 2020. I hope all the things that make you hysterically post about a political decisions happen in another country happens in 2020.

Brexit seems to rattle all the right people.

    Happy new year to all..........

........................and perhaps in the 2020's you anti's may focus more on Ireland and what's happening 'HERE' than having an obsession about other countries and their people's decisions and a far away president of another country.

Crypto and Kid's posts increasingly resemble the defiant and partisan chants you hear from the cheap seats at soccer matches.

Just after the opposition has scored.....

He has claimed as fact that the recording has been clipped to give a different context. Where is the proof of this? Has he seen a more complete video? If so share it and we can take his claims seriously. I made a claim that Barnier is no saint and backed it up with video evidence.

If someone claims, as fact, that the video has been edited, they need to provide proof or they should say the video *may* have been edited.

I am providing citations whilst others are throwing around blatant speculation.

The video has clearly been cut, it starts in the middle of a sentance with the subtitles saying stuff that is not heard in the video.

As I said before, its a rather blatent hatchet job.

What do you even think the video shows, specifically?
