This is what I have come up with but I will undoubtedly change it before the weekend:

Heaton/Pope - seems to be the best option to start

    Robertson / Laporte / Dunk / Diop / Lundstrom

Barkley / Salah / Sterling / Ward Prowse / Dedoncker

    Kane / Wilson / 4.5

I think Barkley is worth a punt at the start of the season as he has looked great in pre-season

Ward Prowse I think has been overlooked by many - He had a brilliant second half of the season scoring 7 goals

Everyone else sort of speaks for themselves

Had to forego one premium defender to fit in Kane and I'm not sure if I've done the right thing!

    An interesting 5-5-3 formation.

You know how I feel about that. I’ll be starting Lundstram, with 2 x 4.0m fodder on the bench, and wish I had the balls to start Dendonker too.

And in response to the Bilva thing I think he’s capable of hitting 200. I really rate him and think he’ll be the finished article this season.

I would downgrade Jimenez and upgrade KDB to Sterling. Or Downgrade KDB to Bilva and upgrade elsewhere.

I really don’t fancy Wolves at all.

Thanks that was how I felt about wolves too
I’ve stuck sterling back in for now
So decisions to be made around budget defenders and budget mid
Will need 2 of them to play every week
    Currently have
Taylor Target Lundstrum Dendoncker (and greenwood)
    0.5 iTb
Need to look into rotations now
Jorginho still in my thoughts when really he shouldn’t be !!!

I think you were better off without Sterling tbh! You will have to start 2 of those 5 you listed every week, not something I’d be comfortable with. Especially as 2 of them almost certainly won’t start for their team.

I think having Salah, Sterling and Kane (Auba in my case) just weakens the team too much. I will captain Salah this week and Auba next, then reassess. I wouldn’t captain Sterling either week (nor will I expect many others too) so I’m going without Sterling for 2GWS.

My big decision is Laporte and Siggy OR a 5m defender and KDB.

I have developed an unnatural fascination with Haller and trying to fit him in

    Pope

    Robbo Digne Montoya Johnson Zinchenko

    Salah Sterling Barkley Perez Dendonck

    Kane Haller Wickham.

A large part of me things Moura is a better short term pick over Kane. But unsure how to use the extra money

First draft, no real research or planning done yet - busy busy.

    Guaita, Ryan
Robertson, Cathcart, Dunk, Targett, 4.0 fodder
Salah, B. Silva, Callum Robinson, Grealish, hoping to afford Wilson,
    Auba, Kane, Wood

    Any feedback appreciated.

    Ederson (Button)
    Robbo AWB Montoya (Cathcart Lundstram)
    Salah KDB Barkley Perez (Dendonker)
    Kane Wilson Deeney

Really struggling atm with Ederson+4m or Pope+Heaton

Thinking of BB GW1 with this team.
Used clean sheet odds to fit players around Salah, Kane, VVD and Siggy.

Mulling it over, I always WC early, GW2 early would be a new record though. :P

    Pope
    Wan-Bissaka/Robertson/Laporte
    Salah/KDB/Anderson/Barkley/Tielemans
    Wesley/Kane

    Subs
    Heaton
    Walker-Peters
    Kelly
    Greenwood

Currently playing a 3-5-2 with the option of a 4-5-1 with Walker-Peters playing instead of Wesley.
Could downgrade KDB to Bilva but not seeing many great options to upgrade Wesley for that money.
Think Barkley and Tielmans could have great seasons so trying to keep them in there.

    Any suggestions?

A fascination with Barkley seems to have developed here, would it not be better to wait a week or two before getting him? There are so many unknowns with him (even basic things like will he actually start), Chelsea under a new manager are an unknown quantity and their opening fixture could go any way, this is the definition of should be avoided at the start of a season. After a week a lot will have become more clear and I don't see him racking up a big score at OT.

Iwobi probably would do as much damage as Mkhitaryan but give you an extra 1m to upgrade Dacoure

As much chance of starting as Mkhitaryan I would think, he has been at African Nations which is why he was missing out on pre-season. Last year he got a good run of games in the team so should feature a lot this season. If it came down to it I wouldn't personally go with either of them.

Looks to be much better options out there in fairness

Mkhi could be sold before the transfer window closes and if he stays he won't be a starter. He might get the Newcastle game due to injuries/fitness issues with Laca and Pepe but that's about it.

    Ryan
    VVD-Coleman-Ake-Taylor
    Salah-Sterling-Siggy-Perez
    Auba-King

    Button-Dendonker-Targett-Greenwood

    Taylor and Target to rotate
Perez can be changed for Tielemans or possibly someone like Lanzini.

    Latest attempt

    Foster (Button)

    TAA Robertson Digne (Kelly) (Lundstum)

    Sterling Bilva Salah Siggy Jorginho

    King Deeney (Greenwood)

Think Jorginho might do well this year in a more advanced role and should be on pens. King and Deeney have not got a bad start to the season fixture wise, will probably end up getting Kane and GW2 and having to downgrade a midfielder.

    Any thoughts?

So after much deliberation I have decided to do a team this year. So here it is.

    Goalkeepers

    Alisson: 6.0
    Begovic: 4.5

    Defenders

    El Mohamady: 4.5
    Dunk: 4.5
    Ake: 5.0
    Van Dijk: 6.5
    Chambers: 4.5

    Midfielders

    Torreira: 5.0
    Hourihane: 6.0
    Salah: 12.5
    Eriksen 9.0
    Neves: 5.5

    Forwards

    King: 6.5
    Aguero: 12.0
    Jota: 6.5

    Any helpful opinions are appreciated.

Better off going a 4.0 keeper sub if you are getting alison

El mo - plays for villa not many clean sheets there

Chambers arsenal are not known for thier defensive prowess - poor fixtures after the first two

Eriksen wants away from spurs not playing well preseason Moura/Fraser would free up funds

Torreira, Neves and Hourihane are all defensive midfielders no go's in fpl (set pieces or not)

    Your front three looks decent.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Thanks for input. Ya Eriksen was just there just to be there would have been changed when transfers became known. Sane was my first choice but with the cloud over him I was not going to take a chance. Moura is a good shout. El mo was just there as a sub as normally will go 3 at the back but if so I should go cheaper. I get you on the 3 defensive midfielders had not thought of that. Still some work to do but knew it could not be right first time.

Will Origi be there or there abouts their Liverpool starting line up?

Will almost certainly start GW1. Will almost certainly be nailed to the bench after that.

The front 3 will be Salah, Firmino and Mane (once he is back up to speed).

Agreed, Willian or Barkley which makes the latter more attractive. Maybe not to have in team at start of the season tho.

United haven't had a striker worth money in about 6 seasons. I'd ditch him and get yourself another midfielder/defender. A Robertson is gonna outscore Rashford and give you some change.

Gone from Rashford now but would still like some United attacking cover.
    Have gone

    Duffy -> Dunk
    KDB -> Martial
    Rashford -> Kane

    Think I'm done now

    Heaton (Norris)
    AWB, VVD, Dunk (Balbuena, Lundstrum)
    Salah, Sterling, Martial, Barkley (Dendoncker)
    King, Kane, Wood

    Robertson, Van Dijk, Montoya
Salah, Sterling, B. Silva, Moura, Barkley
    Vardy, Ings

    Button, Greenwood, Lundstram, Kelly

First serious attempt at going without Kane, and I like it more than I was expecting. Bench is awful, but that's how I usually roll. I'll be wildcarding early.
