Jesus looking to have reclaimed some form during the Copa America and Aguero being a year older I can see more rotation this year than last. Not worth the risk @ 12m

Maybe a lot feel he was coming off early in games last year whereas Sterling seemed to start or not play.

That may not be true but I think it’s the perception.

I’m struggling to decide which one to go for.

I think Kun being a year older, as per above post, and Jesus needing/wanting games may come in to it too.

Edit - if VAR leads to more penalties you’d have to think City will get a lot more spot kicks as they spend so much time in the opposition box. Is that a good or bad thing for Kun ? Will Sterling take them if Kun is off the pitch ?

I just do not like any of my teams with sterling and salah in them along with premium defence
I think I will stick with KDB

I also am still very uncomfortable having such a light attack
Kane at 11ml is just so damn tempting.........3 lovely home games in 5
away to City gw 2 is a problem. Away to Arsenal gw 4 not so much

I might just put him in for now......

Kane is the standout striker for me at the start of the season but I can't get him in. I would have to take out Vardy and weaken my defence to get him in. And I don't know if the "Kane doesn't really score in August" is still a thing!

Kane on my radar too...it's basically boiling down to Aguero + Lucas Moura, or Kane + Bilva.

Having typed it out and taking the replies above into account, I'm leaning towards Kane now

I took Vardy out for him
They have a tough enough start
After that I had to downgrade one 4.5 ml keeper
Duffy to 4.5 (was going to happen anyway )
Jorginho to 4.5
So not much compromise for me
I think I’ll be keeping him

However if kdb continues to play deep that’s a problem
I was burned by him for that reason last year too at start of season
And by Kane

3 lovely home games for Kane...we've been here before... Until he shows he's a reliable captaincy option again in those easy home games, I won't be going near him. Leicester can score against anyone, I'm not letting the tough start talk me out of Vardy.

Tempted by KDB but he's so injury prone and not someone I'd captain, I'd rather pay extra for a consistently fit and potentially explosive Sterling.

Pretty much my thoughts as well, feel like its too much in the midfield and too much sacrifice elsewhere - to give an example

He broke his August jinx last season.... in gw2 vs Fulham I think it was.

I'll be watching him closely in pre season as this is the first summer he's had a proper rest as last year he was coming back a world cup and the 2 seasons before that spurs had some mad end of season tours in Australia/world cup qualifiers.

Yeah he was a fairly recent tinker, probably won't last that long. I might backtrack to previous version, something like Laporte for Targett, Martial for Eriksen.

4.5m playing keeper

VVD, Azpilicueta, Dunk, Lascelles (or some other 4.5m def)

Salah Sterling Moura Jorghinho

Kane Vardy


4m non playing keeper
4m defender (Kelly of palace looks best option)
Dedonker
Greenwood

So on the plus side it's got big hitters like Kane, Vardy, Sterling, Salah, VVD and Azpilicueta and even Moura and Dunk are reasonable shouts but the big worry is starting a 4.5m gk with no rotation option, starting Jorghinho each week and no bench options other than Dedonker


Draft 2 would involve downgrading Moura to anyone of the 7m options like Zaha, Milo, Perez, Brooks, Maddison, Teilman or one of the Chelsea trio - Willian, Pedro or Barkley.

This would allow a 5m keeper like fabianski

1st final draft

Ryan (Button)- had been on Pope/Heaton assuming Heaton moves to Villa
TAA, VVD, Digne, Targett(any 4.5), Lundstrum(or kelly)
Salah, KDB, Siggy, Zaha, Dendoncker (any 4.5)
Kane, King, Greenwood

It is only now that I type it out that I see I will be playing my 4.5mldef/mid/fwd every week and it doesn't look promising

I will be honest. It is hard enough for me to spend so much money on defence. But to spend 13.5 on 2 from the same team.......I can't see it. I am very tempted by Zivchenko. Only spotted he is 5.5ml. If I switch him for VVD I can get a 4th defender for 5.5ml or upgrade 5th mid etc Could go back to rotating keepers and put Duffy back in as my 4th defender.He was their originally and only made way when I went with Brighton keepers. He could sneak his way back in yet!!!!!
I could also downgrade Zaha to Perez for another .5 and strengthen squad even more.

Kane is staying. I have made peace with that decision already. So no Sterling
