Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gdansk for long weekend with kids

Hi all, I’m looking to book a long weekend abroad at the start of October. I’m not fussed where we go but it has to be A) convenient (flight from Cork) and B) cheap! Forerunner at the moment is Gdansk, it seems to fulfil both criteria, but what would it be like with young kids (2 and 5)? Would first week of October be still pleasant enough weather wise? The way flights are, we’d be there 4 nights/3 full days, is this too long? And finally, is it cheap to eat/drink? We’ve been to krakow a few years and loved it so if Gdansk was similar we’d be happy. Thanks in advance!

    For kids:
There is a good waterpark in Sopot.

    Hours of fun with trampolines:

    also
    https://loopys.pl/gdansk/ an amusement park.
Also the Zoo, Malbork Castle, the trip on the 'pirate' ship, the Maritime Museum. Lots and lots to do in and near Gdansk.
They are maybe a little bit young for the Science Museum, but it might be worth looking through their site to see, or asking them: https://www.hevelianum.pl/en

Weather shouldn't be 'cold' cold but not T shirts really, though last year mid October had a couple of 25c+ days. They were very much out of the ordinary though.

Very cheap to eat and drink. My favourite Polish city. 3 to 4 days not too long a visit at all.

I describe Poland as good value for money.

Echo everything Spurious has listed and if the weather's not too bad, Gdynia and Sopot and their beaches are a short train ride away.
