Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey folks,
I'm not sure if I'm correct here, so maybe it's not a BA, but this appears to offer unlimited use within the EU for calls, data and tethering:

    https://smarty.co.uk/plans/unlimited

So if that's the case, then maybe it can be used as a daily phone in Ireland and if you're going to the UK or Europe often, you don't have to even think about it, just keep using it how you please and not pay anything extra no matter where in the EU you are?

Maybe somebody more clued in with mobile providers can confirm :)

Says you need to be UK resident for 40 weeks per annum. Maybe try to order a SIM and see if they deliver outside UK or Parcel Motel etc

There is 25% off now, so it's £18.75 per month.

I wonder would they be able to see the amount of "roaming" use in Ireland and see you're away for more than 40 weeks per year from the UK?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the discount and it says it's a lifetime discount?

roaming data is the most expensive part for the telecom provider. like any other company that doesn't has it's own antenna towers, they will promise you the moon and the stars, and a few ** in between.
The * = explained in layman terms :
    - unlimited data ( we don't cap/slow your data ) = we don't slow it down from software (i.e. from 5 Mbps to 256 kbps) but in our national coverage will split the pipe with more users that can carry, and in roaming will pay the local telecom company the lowest tier data package - 3g at best. But again, we don't know/care what/how the roaming telecom operator shapes the data trafic for non-locals
    - discount for life = for the life of the bundle package; read chapter 5 on T&C where it say that we can cancel the package at any time

the 40 weeks location requirement is the perfect legal reason to cut you off, in case you abuse the system . ( but again, maybe you can go to Newry once a month..., or if living in dudndalk, could have a gsm repeater antnena on the roof, pointing north..)

@offtopic: with my experience with tesco and other virtual operators for data roaming : expect nothing and call us from abroad in case it doesn't work ( we'll put you on hold, while Q-ing to the next support level )
