Is that a good thing or a bad thing.....

Bad if you want a reference model but good if you just want a card, plus if these overclock as expected then there'll be plenty of AIB cards with higher clock speeds.

I want a 6800XT to tide me over for the 6900XT or the 3080TI.

I will take reference card today no probs.

The 6900xt is barely better. Hardly worth upgrading from a 6800xt for.

    Really!!!

Will have to look into it so.

Well at least IfI bag a 6800XT I will have a decent GPU in the rig....;)

It's a decent upgrade from the 6800 to the 6800xt (around +20-25%) but the 6800xt to the 6900xt is smaller (around +11-12%) despite the naming and pricing.

Of course wait on benchmarks but based on specs it should be around that.

OCUK have confirmed they literally only have a few hundred cards, so not even going to bother.

Just sticking with the original plan of a new machine in January.

Ebuyer made a bollocks of the launch too, did not even list it have to send an email to the place to be CONSIDERED!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,013 ✭✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

I cant even see it on amazon?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,684 ✭✭✭✭Samuel T. Cogley

So I've either ordered 137 of them or none on the AMD website.

  • Registered Users Posts: 54,173 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Online Retailers have made a balls of this release tbh

I got a RTX 3080 today and was tempted to send it back if the AMD 3800XT surprised me (its cheaper too) but this release fiasco has been awful

Yeah I actually had a look there and did get an order through for 6800, 6800XT disappeared from the basket until eventually it stopped appearing.

Though I fully expect the 6800 to be cancelled.

    I was keen for a 6800xt but that sh!teshow was a downer.
I'll just watch the reviews instead and see about a system in the new year when hopefully things settle down if ever..

I don't know why everyone's in such a rush to get 1 the second they release anyway. You're only setting yourself up for frustration and disappointment.

There's going to be better stock and superior custom cards in a week or 2.

  • Registered Users Posts: 82,391 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Yeah, at more cost and I'm already stretching out of my budget for a 6800 XT.

Newegg launch was a bit crap, error pages and then wham a slew of sold out cards. Definitely feels like stock was much more limited than the CPU launch, which for me went off without a single hiccup.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,013 ✭✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

If I did not build a brand new rig I probably would wait but looking for a card since mid August so just want the rig finished I suppose I will just wait it out now after that bollocks.

For me, mostly because I don't give a crap about noise or heat within reason, so it's nice to get one as cheap as possible to get maximum performance per buck.

I mean, the price of the RTX3070 FE vs the board partners....

    tldr

    good for 1080 and 1440

ray tracing somewhere between 2080 and 3080 performance

    go team green for 4k

go team red for 1080 or 1440 high refresh rates

SAM not making much of a difference yet

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,400 ✭✭✭Homelander

Not sure I would agree with that assessment exactly. It's 5% slower at 4K versus 3080 and a good whack cheaper.

    Seems decent to me.

Everytime I watch these reviews I remember I have a 60Hz monitor, I'm more than happy with, and the 5700XT drives more than 60FPS.

    Need. To. Cop. On. :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,013 ✭✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

Missed out from ebuyer because I did not put in the quick code reference code when I emailed, I mean for **** sake.....hope the bitch gets a dodgy curry the weekend.
