Can't find numbers but I wouldn't be surprised if Cornette's full show has more weekly listeners than AEW's TV show has viewers.

Cena was as generic as a CAW down with Cornette it was only his own sheer charisma that got him over when he got a chance on the main roster.

Big Dave was very much the same until Evolution where they were able to hide the negatives and accentuate the positives in that group and he got a chance to grow.

Cornette had nothing to do with them becoming megastars.

    Absolutely cuckoo.

    Absolutely cuckoo.

    Its a fair take.

Sure Cornette was the booker in OVW, he certainly had an influence on Cena/Batista is some form. Did they learn anything from him? Id say they certainly gained knowledge from him and he aided them in their careers. But did he make them megastars?

    I think not.

You always get people trying to take credit for the success of those in wrestling.
Lost count how many times I heard a wrestler say they trained xyz blah blah. Like they were the reason for that persons success. Then you find out they only trained with them for like 6 months and that was years ago.

    Goes with the business.

    Totally ahistorical.

Cena was cutting great promos and having great matches in OVW. It was pretty much the Cena we eventually saw (minus the rap gimmick). He was called up to the main roster and there he became 'generic'.

As for Batista - he was being hammered over in OVW, built as an absolute animal. He gets brought up to the main roster and they hang a box around his neck.

It's mad that this place constantly whinges about WWE mishandling current talent, and yet the same people are turning themselves inside out to pretend WWE didn't **** up with Cena and Batista. Both Cena and Batista had all the talent in the world, WWE just didn't see it.

Big Covid outbreak in NXT. Awful timing (even more so than normal). Why this keeps happening to that particular brand, everyone can make their own guesses.

Would explain the stories of Vince not being happy with WWE talent.

Charlotte is going to be the lead in a TV movie remake of Walking Tall with potential for more installments to come. That's a pretty big deal.

Also rumours going around that WWE might not be putting Mania tickets on sale tomorrow anymore.

You make so good points. Cena was doing decent enough as a heel in OVW, Batista maybe not so much... he has a torrid time as injuries were a regular occurrence.

Im not saying Cornetto didnt influence them, it be daft to suggest otherwise. Im sure they picked a lot of knowledge from Jim and Id say he certainly helped them along.

And yes, WWE went backwards with Cena initially. Have a basics for a decent heel character in place and ignoring it to provide a white meat babyface Cena that no one cared about. A wrong move.

Batista was labeled injure prone so they probably didnt trust him enough to begin with when he arrived on Smackdown, but yeah the deacon gimmick did him no favours.

Charlotte's acting never struck me as being crossover worthy. Wow.

Neither did Sasha Banks. Her acting on Smackdown is abysmal. Ive seen better evil laughs by Panto villain's. She cant act.

I mean yeah but Sasha's role in Mando didn't demand too much. Charlotte is leading a tv show on the other hand.

    She was fine in Mandalorian.

Practically nobody can do natural acting in wrestling because it's panto acting. You've got a mic and need to shout and exagerrate for the people all the way back in the cheap seats.

But there she cant speak without coming off wooden. Now maybe thats a product of WWEs scripted promos, but she never seems like shes showing any real personality, she comes across fake or pretending to be a heel. I just cant but what shes selling.Compare her with Bianca, its Belair that looks so much more natural and comfortable when speaking. Shes much more convincing than Sasha....

Bayley, looks light years ahead of her when shes cutting a promo.

Even Nia, whos is not great promo artist, comes off better.

Now on Charlotte, do we even need a remake of Walking Tall, which itself was a remake.

She was meant to be in Roadhouse at one stage but don't think it went anywhere.
I get the feeling Ric was talking about Charlotte doing a big project around Summerslam last year, wonder if this was it.

Based on a real life US sheriff who stood up to the bad guys even after they killed his wife to warn him off and won they eat it up in the Southern States.

I'm surprised Bliss hasn't gotten any TV or film roles she has a very good and natural promo one of all the best within the female talent and has the the looks for Hollywood.

Joe Lanza full of news today.

Andrade was gonna be released in the December cuts til Heyman saved his job. WWE have pitched ideas to Andrade that he's rejected. Likens it to the Pac and Brodie situations. Says it's a stand off.

He's tweeted in the past that if he doesn't want their money and doesn't want to be there and just wants to wrestle then they should let him leave, even if legally they don't have to.

But it does sound like Andrade really does just want out of that place.

What would WWE have to gain by letting him leave? Cant see them agreeing to it.
