You know what the fact you aren't that far away from what will probably actually happen when this is over shows how much ****e WWE can talk. Hopefully Stephanie will have learned from her 9/11 promo where she compared it to how the federal government treated her family.

She hasn't learned at all I think. She was quoted a few years ago as saying "philanthropy is the future of marketing, it's the way brands are going to win". The McMahons are just living in a different world to the rest of us.

Big Dave spoke to people in WWE who confirmed the tweets at Ronda were a work & the whole thing is an angle.

I don't think many people really took it seriously, mind you.

Incidentally, I laughed so hard at this, Ronda is the best :D

They've got old aged heart attack victim Jerry Lawler flying out to do this thing tonight. In a week where a doc is gonna be released about McMahon covering up an employee commiting murder you'd have thought it'd take something extra special to knock that off the bad PR perch but this might be it.

So the XFL filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.... Weren't WWE stockholders told there'd be no involvement from WWE in the XFL?

Seems there's trouble brewing for Vince....

That really could be the end of Vince if he just lied to shareholders and it’s enough to push him out

They are brazenly shameless and act as though they are above what is happening.. the desperate nauseating statement they posted about carrying on through these hard times was laughable.. as for that video, they warn us to wash our hands but I guess a bunch of people wresting and sweating all over each other in close quarters is fine.. this company becomes more toxic, odious and loathesome by the day

Well Vince I think used his high connections

Between the firing of the two top executives and the wrestlemania mess, and now the live shows during a global pandemic and now this xfl stuff, it's not been the greatest decision making period of vince McMahons life.

The XFL was excellent, football fans found it a breath of fresh air (have a read of this if you like for how many felt about it: https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2020/4/10/21216992/xfl-suspend-operations-canceled-season).

It went out of business because it’s a massively expensive, uphill battle to compete with the NFL and couldn’t survive the blow of having to shut operations due to COVID. Which is what I was saying earlier about it being different for cultural institutions like the NBA, Premier League etc and other sporting/entertainment entities.

I agree the xfl was far better than the last time and obviously it couldn't withstand a pandemic. My point when I said "this xfl mess" I meant the bankruptcy and that previously WWE shareholders brought a case against WWE because of what they were told about the connections between the two organisations and what they believed to be the case. I wonder do the xfl filing for bankruptcy give them the answers to the questions they had asked and will vince have to answer awkward questions.

Just goes to show ya why Vinnie Mac is the goat promoter when he can pull **** like this.

The show must go on never fitted a better person. Gotta respect that determination and drive.

You'd assume so but hopefully by June or July in the US and other places they will have slowed the spread of the virus to a pace that can allow thing like this to happen. I said hopefully but maybe not.

    Do you?

In continuing to run he is requiring people to fly all around the country and risk spreading the virus during a f*cking pandemic. He has literally no regard for human life. His profit is what matters.

So no, you don't have to respect that. It's not determination or drive, it's arrogance and greed.

Getting some mainstream attention now anyway, I just saw it on the expanded BBC News front page

Seems 'ol Jimmy Cornette threw a **** fit in defence of something Jerry Lawler said on RAW last night... Anyone care to provide the context?

    https://twitter.com/TheJimCornette/status/1250038520795877377
So now people are mad at @JerryLawler for telling a joke. Now I understand why modern wrestling sucks, because most modern wrestling fans are such whiny little pussies they don't DESERVE good wrestling. How do these people go out in public without breaking out in tears? #WHINE

Lawler said something kinda racist, so the other guy known for occasionally spouting racist ****e defends him.

Raw does a 1.913 million, no hour over 2 million. The live show rather than pretaped didn't move the ratings but they're getting a going in at the moment in the mainstream for it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

I think all the wrestling shows ratings are showing at the minute taped live or whatever people’s minds are else we’re

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,952 ✭✭✭Monokne

I think the ratings are showing no-one has any interest in empty warehouse wrestling.

Given the climate & the fact they are insisting on running anyway, I hope the ratings continue to sink.

I just find the silence so weird. Caught the clip of Rollins attacking Drew last night and the whole thing just sounds so off without ANYTHING in the background. Low level music like a Smackdown game or something would even make it more palatable.

This is the governor's reasoning for allowing WWE to film...

    https://twitter.com/KRayWFTV/status/1250163655582367753?s=19

It has absolutely nothing to do with Linda McMahon's Super PAC giving $18.5 million to Florida on the day WWE were declared an essential business...

I think that might be outside the Million Dollar Man's price range.
