Unless Lugar slams Yoko, its a no for me.

Well they spent money like drunk sailors for years so I'm surprised they didn't when they were in existence.

Interesting article in Variety about WWE's ratings
    https://variety.com/vip/amidst-wwe-ratings-tumble-mcmahon-must-stop-blaming-storylines-1234712446/

Seems there's a Q2 Earnings Call tomorrow night so expect a lot of tidbits and scapegoats thrown around.

What excuses will Vince have this time around?

Covid 19 etc etc..... though he will do his usual 'we are pleased with the ratings ' bull.

Something about Paul Heyman & "creative differences" or some other BS to explain the change to Prichard.

It's like United and their chopping and changing managers since Fergie retired.

Anyone catch the highlights of the conference call?

Anyone catch the highlights of the conference call?

I saw one highlight in that the Q2 profit this year compared to last years was massive.

400% increase in profit from what I saw, can't remember the exact figures. But they still decided to release/furlough people.

Got to hand it to Vinnie Mac and the WWE from a business perspective they are a global force and the gold standard.

Amazing profits in a global pandemic. I presume Wrestlemania must of been a massive success based on this.

Yet they still could've made profits had they not had their Black Wednesday in April.

Also it's not really amazing profits in a global pandemic, Amazon did better in their own Q2.

To he fair, while its a ****ty move to do now, during the height of a global pandemic, WWE should be releasing wrestlers. The should release more. The stockpiled a **** load of talent and under used almost all of them. Just to keep them from going elsewhere.

Timing is ****ty, but I think WWE should release so many.

All we hear in here from certain posters is oh look AEW, Impact, MLW being looked down of taking WWE cast offs.

When the WWE have in fact being buying and stock piling those wrestlers then just jobbing 99% of them out for the last decade to stop them actually going to other Feds in the first place.

Bryan Alvarez tongue in cheek quote tweeted Dave Meltzer about the jump in WWE profits.

They ****ed people over by doing what they did. But also it's hopefully a lesson to them, in future don't ****ing stockpile so much talent. Especially just to keep them from other companies.

Of course they will do it again if it will hurt any of the other companies and stop there growth.

And the funny thing is that a lot of them wouldn't be worth thinking about if WWE hadn't taken them on in the first place. Like do we think someone like Deonna Purrazzo would be the Impact women's champion if she hadn't been with WWE. Would Brodie Lee have the role he has? Would people care about the likes of Heath and Ryder?
OK, Brodie might be in a high place as he had good rep before WWE.
So they take ones on just to stop them going elsewhere, increasing their value in the process

They're a kid unhappy with their old toys, wanting the newest shiny thing. Especially when you consider the talent they already have on their books.

Purrazzo yes she probably would have considering her runs in TNA,ROH and Shimmer before even going to NXT and being pretty much wasted the girl has real in ring talent.

Brodie had a very good rep before he entered the WWE as well it was the reason the WWE signed him.

Heath and Ryder are pretty much WWE homegrown talent so that is unfair to say no one would care about then since nether really worked outside the WWE to give anyone a chance to see what they can do outside the WWE bubble.

I'll just copy some of the Q&A from Fightful Wrestling.
A caller asks about "soft" ratings, and cites COVID, but asks if Vince McMahon is worried and his plans to change it. Vince says the audience is integral to the ratings, but thinks they need new characters, better characters and more compelling story lines.

As is tradition, a lot of dancing around questions.

Vince McMahon says a decision hasn't been made yet on a Saudi Arabia event, but considering where they are in their economy he doubts it.

WWE says a Sony deal caused a lot of geoblocking that affected their social media numbers and caused them to fall

Caller asks why AEW & NXT have bounced back in ratings better during COVID than Raw & Smackdown. Vince says that AEW and NXT are newer, and that's why. The caller also asks about Heyman being fired, and abandoning the development of wrestlers. Vince McMahon says he thought Heyman did a good job creatively, and answered nothing else associated with that question besides saying you always have to develop new characters.

A lot of concern for ratings and viewership among the callers in the Q&A.
