Not going to look at any video but can someone give a brief description of the spot that caused this?

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,090 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Just watched and I'll put what happened in spoilers though I'll be vague anyway
Before the match started he climbed to the second rope to face the crowd. Then jumped down and both legs went. So pure freak accidents. so kinda like how Sid broke his leg before

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,192 ✭✭✭✭B.A._Baracus

I didn't take the advice above and I looked at the video. It's nasty like cringe type.

It looks like one of those freak accidents. As what he did has been done by thousands of wrestlers before.

    Pretty much this but
in the worst way you can imagine. Both knees bent backwards. The whole way. It looked to be one of the worst injuries i've ever seen in the ring

People may have seen that video of the poor guy who broke both of his legs in the backyard indie match. Apparently he may be facing double amputation...

I have seen all manner of shít on the internet but that video is one of the few things that made me turn away from the screen and close my eyes. Just horrific.

Honestly didn’t think it was real. Absolutely horrific

Hahahaha, a hard on? Nah, just a reaction to silly comments.

I get my hard ons elsewhere

    O......k
You alright mate? Very aggressive style of posting. Topped off with a fake and sarcastic "thanks"

You got a hard on for this topic or something?
    Lol.

Seems Tracy Smothers has died. Looks like he's had a lot of health issues the last few years.

^^^ That's crazy, I was only watching some of his shoot interviews there the other day. Rest in Peace.

I got the chance to meet him at a wrestling show in Kilkenny, seemed really genuinely sound

Really seemed like a great guy as you see the tributes coming in

    Re: Tracey Smothers.
One of his famous stories is making the rounds on Twitter. He originally said it in a shoot interview years ago. IIRC it was RF.

It goes that Tracey (wrestling as Freddie Joe Floyd at the time in WWF) was sitting backstage with the undertaker. Cloudy (Wrestler Jimmy Shoulders) was dressing up as Sunny as well at the time being apart of The Body Donnas. Cloudy was also present nearby.

The Undertaker says "people will do anything to get in this business now. Even be a fu*king fag*ot" - to which Tracey replies "How long have you been dead now, Mark?" :D

Tracey went on to say, with a laugh and smile, how the taker didn't like that and was gone soon after.

A load of us worked with Tracy when he was here. So sound, so easy and a great story teller.
Before going out to the ring he said ' then the deal bangbangbang shoulder bangbang dealdeal shoot me in dealdealdealbangbangbang'

And that is exactly what we did!

I know it shouldn’t matter, but knowing Jericho is a full blown trump supporter really puts me off him.
I’m aware many within wrestling are republicans ( notably Vince and family)

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,644 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

The Undertaker as well donating money to Trump.

And then you see Jericho donates $2k to that backyard wrestler who broke both his legs this is something he does regularly for wrestlers and their families who struggle.

Would make zero difference to me, a person's political beliefs are their own.

Same, if you're sensitive to a person's political beliefs I'd say wrestling isn't for you. Separate the wrestling character from the person behind it.

tbh i think theres so many wrestlers with such crappy opinions in wrestling its always disappointing when you find out another one joins that list

If you support trump you making it known you support his racist, sexiest, homophobic views Even if I bet Jericho just doesn’t want to pay higher taxes like a lot of rich conservatives

Wrestling fans constantly and rightly judge Vince on his clear political allegiances but always like to ignore it when it’s someone they like

I have to chuckle a little about that type of mentality from wealthy conservatives. The likes of Jericho is making such an obscene amount of money I doubt any increase in taxes is going to be all that noticeable.

At the end of the day it really comes down to personal distaste about where the taxes are going. They'll dance around that simple fact but it's true; they don't want to reinvest in the community and build people up.

I get Jericho is generous with money he donates but when you look at those donations, none of them are particularly about the community but rather just individual feel good contributions.

Well to be honest I think there's a lot more to politics than binary options, especially when you are fixating on the man and not the policies the GOP implement. I wouldn't agree with some policies of the GOP but I wouldn't agree with a lot of the dems offer either.

Main thing is at least I like jericho pinning his colours to the mast, and as a rather eloquent man, I'd love to hear his rationale. What are your political allegiances? I'm not having a go I just hate the simplistic thinking of "trump bad". Its what leads to tribalism and puts aew vs wwe when you can like what you like, you don't have to join an exclusive club.

Fair enough, you don't want to declare your political likes.I'm just saying, suddenly going off a guy because he donated x to a political figure just seems a bit... Flimsy.

But to be fair, I watch wrestling for superhero type entertainment so!
