Dont see a thread on this, as the TdF has most attention, I guess, but it is worth catching some of it if you fancy. This is the only womens grand tour (albeit 10 days) is on at present in Italy. Kasia Niewiadoma was in the lead after the TTT and despite two great sprint wins from Marianne Vos, but yesterday, Annamiek Van Vleuten took over the lead in ...interesting... style.

UCI Youtube channel has extended coverage each day (Italian commentary).

AVV trains a lot on these roads but her performance yesterday would put lots of pro-men to shame, 5.7w/kg for 25 minutes finishing 3 min ahead of a group containing Niewiadoma and current world champion Anna van der Breggan. Inevitably, this has lead to some interesting comments, and mentions of "aliens" - which is never good.

Some great racing so far. Worth checking out the end of stage 3 for the look of joy on Kennedy's face turn to sorrow when Vos the Boss powers passed her on the line.

I thought her finish was epic to watch, training with both the MS men's and Team Ineos over the winter paid dividends (didn't know this until today), short race, she simply out classed the opposition.

Passo Gavia was cut from the womens race also. Road must be in bits up there still. Word of landslides etc.

That had to be a replay of last year you saw, savage stuff indeed and should be watched by anyone who thinks the women game is inferior. Easily in the top 3 races of last year or up there with all time greatest finishes. Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig's reaction after the race was priceless, look for the video.

This years race is on in the morning, it's more a classics course this year so Vos the Boss for the win given her form last week. ITV 4 and Eurosport have it from 9am.

EDIT: There is actually a group of women doing the tour of France either ahead or behind, I'll see if I can dig out a link and edit.

This is the ladies group who are tackling the whole TdeF one day ahead of the mens race. They arent doing it as a race and have very few of the supports the men have but they are taking it on so well. Fair play to them. How long before they will have a full TdeF available to them ?

Vos won today - savage overtaking on the hill into the finish line. Blistered past the lead girl and left her for dust. The hill caught her out and ended up finishing back 10 places
