Any good walks on shore of lough ree? Have some friends on a boat for a few weeks and are looking to take kids on a few walks.

Rindoon castle and medieval village on the west side. About 15 minutes north of Hodson Bay

Portlick Forest is on a peninsula on the eastern side of Lough Ree, about 15 minutes from Athlone. It's one of my favourite spots to go walking.

That's a good question. There's some moorings not far from the car park at Portlick but I think they're private.

Don't think there is unfortunately. Closest one is Quigley's marina but that's miles away.
