Only ones i have atm, but if i end up sticking it up ill take more obviously. I was only driving Dublin to North Meath once a week or so so i put about 2k more miles on it

Get the part fitted and throw it up here....

Cash for cars are as dodgy anyway...

With the mileage it ain't worth much and age is going against it.

Have the part but two quotes I got for fitting were 150+ just to fit it and clear the code, so Im not sure I'm inclined to put more money behind it in case there is no interest tbh. If i knew we were staying put here I'd chance it and then keep it if it didn't sell but seems like a gamble paying to put it in and being left with it

Does it have a tow bar fitted?

If so I'd be very interested.. even without the part fitted.

Yeah towbar is an audi detachable one, send me a pm and we can arrange for you to have a look at it. Would prefer to see it living on!

    Looks tidy and good value.
    Are they reliable?

Very much so. Only real thing on them is clutches. I’d imagine that’s had one by now. You’ll know if it’s crunching going into reverse.

What's the auto box like on these? Also interested as looking right now at a few Audi A4's and 6's and possibly an Avant

They don’t have a great reputation for reliability and people don’t often like the CVT box. Personally I think the box really complements the 1.9 TDI and it makes the most of the torque.

The one on this one was rebuilt with a gear box specialist with last owner and hasn't done many miles since (few k)

I was thinking of dipping my toe into the bangernomics territory and two cars keep catching my eye.
Turbo petrol s60s and Saab 93/5 also turbo petrols but I understand these aren't the best cars to have?

They're far from the worst either though.

Serious value to be had in 2007 dame Edna 95's and most importantly what look to be well minded examples pop up frequently on DD.

People who buy Saabs tend to look after them well, even cheap(ish) ones. IMO it would be easier to find a well looked after petrol one too

Thanks to this thread, and the earlier post this evening, I am now the proud owner of the A4 Avant that @RiseToMe wanted to move on. :D

Drove up to Dublin from Mullingar, and have just arrived back a short while ago. Absolute gent to deal with, and the car feels as tight and solid as a car that is MUCH newer and I've been wanting to try an Audi for a while now.

Looking forward to doing the few bits that are needed and will pop up a few pics etc here later

Would the Saab be a better buy than the S60? I read that the auto boxes can be a headache and with the Saab's there's the sump drop issue but not really clued up on how this works.

That Hyundai. It's amazing how many people go to the effort of hiding the reg in the photos of the car yet show it on the tax and nct form. I've seen it loads of times...

Because their efforts are not to hide the reg. They want to hide the reg for someone that quickly wants to fine one to clone. If you want to buy the car, you will find the reg in one of the less obvious pictures.

The dirty sump issues was dealt with after 04 I believe on the Saabs.

And both use Aisin auto boxes that are pretty alright so I wouldn't worry too much there.

A well minded example of either would be a solid buy.

If anyone’s interested I’ll be selling my Civic 1.8 hatchback probably in the next 2 weeks.
    2007 with 266km
Has NCT til 20th September, but was only tested in March (252k) . Tried to get a test date but it’s a month away so don’t know what to do there.
Back tyres have lots of tread, 2 new Firestone’s gone on it this month.
Has a Chinese dvd/cd/Bluetooth unit (kindly received from a boardie) but also have the original headunit which can be refitted.
Bodywork is tidy enough, interior is clean.
Everything works bar the drivers side mirror not folding and the climate control screen needing a tap now and again (common issue on them)
I’ve had it since 2012 and it’s been legendary in terms of dependability.
Will be getting bonnet resprayed next week as it’s badly stone chipped.

ES spec has panoramic roof, dual climate, alloys, fogs, traction control, auto lights and wipers, 4 electric windows etc.

Will take €1100. Or 1000 with the bonnet as is.

    Do you still have it?

Yes I do, I have booked it for the NCT on the 19th and hope to get a cancellation (car worth more with more test), think the bonnet is getting done this week too. Can sell without new test no prob.
    You buying?

Handy yoke for the Ikea runs! :D
Taxed until the end of the month
NCT until the beginning of next year
    134k and it's a 2006 1.6 petrol
Listed at €575. Will surely be bought for 500?
Seems to be same owner for last 4 years too

    Hi

Similar to previous posters, my circumstances have changed and I’m selling a car that I expected to keep for another while (just serviced it and also put on 2 good front tyres).

Short reason – foot injury = need an automatic.

Some pics are available here. Taxed to this Sep and NCT to May 2020.

I gather that there isn’t much love for pugs on this forum but I do think that this is a genuine car with 2 careful owners from birth and a full dealer service history without any gaps.

It’s a 2007 2.0HDi (I’m told this is a better engine than the 1.6) executive model. As additional extras it has
    • beige/cream leather seats,
    • 17 inch alloys (with some bubbling unfortunately) see pics
    • electric front driver/passenger seats
    • reversing sensors
    • auto wipers and lights
    • cruise control

It also has a parrot Bluetooth hands free kit fitted which supports voice commands.

There’s almost 140,000 miles on it and it will comfortably do 45-50 mpg on a long run. See the pics which show an average of approx 41mpg over the last 6000 odd miles (i.e. with urban driving as well) and a recent computer reading of 52mpg for 160 miles.

Not sure what else to add but I thought I’d mention it here before I get proper pics done and put it up.

I haven’t a clue about how to price it. How does €900 sound? I know that there are some much cheaper 407s on DD but to be honest the cheaper ones look dogged and tired.

One last point. Another person who drove it thought that the brakes were “soft” They feel fine to me and they passed the recent NCT so that might just be their own opinion but it’s best to mention it.

    Cheers. Mark
