Fill me in... What is this and why do I feel old?

No idea what flash git is, I googled it, but it got mixed reviews ;)

Since we're being all nostalgic like. I'll throw my hat in the ring.

Got this tank from posting here over 2 years ago. Still going strong. Has cost me nothing apart from a new battery and tyres, failed the NCT on some pipe being rusted and fixed it but NCT closed down the day of my retest so no cert. Will pass when they reopen.

Ended up getting it for 650 I think and couldnt be happier with it. Mighty stuff for a 03.

    Perfect Bangernomics example right there!
Couple of months tax on it (worth about 120 Euros)
A years NCT now with the 4 month extension
Looks well minded, relatively low mileage too and even has 2 keys!
Aircon, leather, etc and all for €695

Dont want to derail the thread any more, but 350 this year.

Last few years were more expensive, closer to 600 due to penalty points, but that's based on perfect no claims history/full license 10years+.

Well I got the A4 Avant here last August and 2 weeks later I was due for renewal. Its a 2004 1.9tdi 130bhp and I got my cheapest insurance I've had in years. 490 euros for fully comp. I'm 51 and full NCB

Mine was the opposite I thought, **** on oil but not the worst on juice until you hit the motorway.

Nice looking 9-3 auto with NCT til September (by extension) and tax til July, €600

Seems a very genuine looking car/ad. What is the bangernomics stance on cars that have had their test extended though, can they be considered bangernomics?

130 bhp TDI A4 avant, test til October, €575. Looks very clean for the money too, same owner for the last 3 years.

Can't goo too far wrong at 500ish for a diesel estate with a towbar and a bit of test.

That a4 is great value. Looks well too.

No derailing going on...there is already a forum for motor insurance here on Boards.....this is a question specifically for Bangernomics buyers / owners. Given the present motor insurance situation in this Country. Not much point in buying a banger you really fancy, then discovering that it's uninsurable for you. That's why I asked what was the experience of the bangernomics Forum follower's. So anyone out there have a bad experience insurance wise after buying their banger??? :)

I was actually thinking about this the other day, and I suppose in fairness, ALL cars within date have been extended by 4 months, so I feel it's fair to throw them up here alright

Flagging my interest in case anyone here is selling! Looking for a decent car that would be in and around

    1.4L
    Saloon preferred
    Based in Dublin
Looks well, not old or tired looking

I have a 02 1.4 Corolla that I'll need to get rid of, (got via a Done Deal link from here a while back!), the exterior is in terrible condition but it only has around 80,000 miles and flew through its last 2 NCTs.

€650 for insurance. Same as I paid for the car :pac: I was 29 when I got it. 03 1.4 Corolla, no claims in 12 years of driving, 10 years on a full licence and no points. Was €650 at renewal after they tried to charge me 680. Previous car was a 02 1 litre micra so maybe that's why they increased it, I dunno.

    Clean looking octavia
Might do somebody small bit of test left a months tax
Usually bulletproof engine but I'm not sure of the reliability of the dsg box in it.

I'd drive it to be honest looking for something like it myself

A lot of toys for the money. Pity the leather looks like a rental house couch but it’s a comfy cruiser for sure.
