Shameless plug. This was my uncles he's owned it since around 2009. Given to myself, he's bought a new Tucson, proceeds from the sale towards finishing bits in my house :pac:.

Price is enthusiastic but it's easier to drop it than go back upwards. Will do a good deal for a boardsie.

1 owner 316i, NCT til June 2021, tax til November, €740

Awful ad, and its a base spec E46 in green, could buy a decent buy at 600 or so with all the tax on it

Lovely low mileage, but is a pink Suzuki Ignis worth €1800? I've a bit of a soft spot for these..

Nicely spec'd diesel S Class with 12 months test and low miles, €1950

Xenons, sunroof, cooled seats, sat nav. Lovely, if you can tax it.

C'mere, you have more soft spots than a bouncy castle.

They still look fresh and not dated even though that model is over 15 year's old, still looks better than a Duster! Love that model especially the 3 spoke steering wheel!

I think it helps that Toyota styling went down the ****ter not long afterwards and every Rav-4 since looks like a mildy botched warmover of this one.

I also think it's a real treat that they made the rev counter be the centre dial in the cluster, how very sporty :)

You’ve owned a Celica, the exhaust note and engine sound of a Rav 1.8 always reminds me of one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

Yeah, was actually thinking the same, cold start on the Rav sounds very nice and throaty just like the Celica did.

I suppose why wouldn't it though, it's the same engine as the 140 Celica.

I've actually developed a real horn for the Rav. I'd love it to sell, but i'd love it to stay :pac:

It’s weird. They’re so deeply flawed in that they understeer like a bastard and light the front wheels up at a hint of throttle, but they’re just fun and a bit loud and fizzy and raw - in a way that newer crossovers just aren’t.

Did some scratch their name into the side of that Avensis?
Brocade Red is a really unforgiving colour at the best of times but that car is proper rough looking even though it’s probably great mechanically.

What are the diesal avensis like ? Or is it just the petrol ones that are reliable, also off topic, but when did they start to loose their way ? Are the more recent ones any good, seldom see anything post 2016 on the road.

They stopped selling the Avensis a few years ago.

I would say they stopped being head and shoulders above rivals for reliability 20 years ago when the D-4D came out.

    Something a bit "different"
2009 Chrysler Sebring with a 2 litre VW TDi engine
    NCT until December
Looks very well cared for, 1 owner here who bought it in UK with 24k miles (now has 135k) and has kept it garaged
    New turbo and oil pump
Not a bad looking car, but not sure how long I could live with the interior
    Asking is €1950

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,551 ✭✭✭mayota

I like it. Chrysler mustn’t have been let in on the emissions cheat scam tho.

Not sure if this one was posted or not
    2007 2.2 diesel RAV 4 with 170k miles
NCT until Feb 2021 and taxed until end of March 2021!
The current owner (bought 15th June and 138 lifetime ads, so assuming they are a trader) is saying it was a 1 owner car from new
Asking is €1900. Considering it's a grand a year for tax, and there's 8 and a half months tax left on it, might be worth a shot

    1 owner S80, NCT til April 2021, tax til February 2021, 90k miles and FSH - €1300!

This very car belonged to an old maths teacher of mine from school. Very tempted to go for a look tomorrow, it is only up the road from me

This is now down to 899!! It will soon be worth it just for the car tax alone

    Gorgeous clean example - 2006 A4 1.8T multitronic with only 129k kms
Taxed until end of February 2021 and NCT until May 2021
Timing belt done at 72k kms
Asking €1999 - Pricy, but with mileage that low and looks immaculate too

He'll probably end up giving that away. The big engine and year puts most people off.

The tax itself wouldn't put me off totally, as most Bangernomics cars will be on the old tax, but with it being 2001, it could be tricky getting insurance as most crowds won't insure that age, and it still isn't old enough to qualify for classic insurance

7 months driving, just add petrol, how bad would/ could it be? If the multichronic is still working at the end of February stick 3 months tax on her and belt away until the test is out and look for something else...
