If that 205 doesn't float your boat..

1 litre 4 speed, NCT til January 2021, tax til October, €1000

Both ads are night and day in terms of presentation. Its amazing what a little bit of effort can do when it comes to this.

That 205 won't hang around for long at that money
Looks in great nick considering it's age, but also looks like it's just a very well presented honest car

    That just gave me PTSD.

    HA!

Mine had no power steering either as it happened. That teaches ya lots wrt parking dynamics.

I decided to stay in the rough bangernomics territory after my two years with my Bravo, which I secured from here, and went for a 2010 Saab 9-3 1.9 TID 150!

Just slightly above the bangernomics budget but very well kept for the price, with everything done from the clutch/flywheel to the alternator.

I see what boardsies were saying though, its a lot of car for their value. Only downside is there are no nice soft touch plastics like on VW/Audi etc.

Like others, I shall update on the, or lack thereof, breakdowns/repairs!

I miss my 93 Aero and my 95 Aero. 2 amazing cars. On a boring vectra now. I'd have another Saab in a heartbeat, definitely would have to be an Aero..

This is now down to 899!! It will soon be worth it just for the car tax alone

    That Volvo is €850 now!
Gotta be a decent bus for someone, over €350 of tax on it.

Not an Aero and just above bangernomics territory, but it could be brought down a bit. This is a carbon copy of the one I bought really.

2008 Mazda3 1.3 petrol. Taxed until 05/21, nct just done and valid until 09/21.

Strong price, but could be cheap motoring.

Not a big fan of the design, but with that mileage it could be subject to a bit of haggling and relatively cheap motoring for a year. Should be insurance friendly, too.

I bought one of them back in 2003 it was a 91 with the full body kit, rallied it on the farm and sold it on at €150 profit, mad I only paid €300 for it. NCT and valid tax too.

I find the dash pretty clean and satisfying. Matter of opinion though I suppose

    Olden day immobiliser

Early Peugeot 406 had this as well.

    2005 E200 Automatic
Too pricy IMO, but, the reason I am adding it is the timing chain has been done, so if you could haggle the price down, it would make a nice buy
190,000 kms and a fresh NCT also until Sep 2021 and a couple of weeks tax left

    Asking €1750

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,454 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Great yoke for the money once there isn’t rust. They’re a remarkably modern feeling car inside, and the 1.8 tax is the icing on the cake.

    2007 Suzuki Swift 1.3 petrol
These are a very reliable little car and great for town driving, although they will average around 50mpg on main roads
The uncle has been driving them for years and while they are very basic, they're actually a great little car to drive
NCT and tax are both until Feb 2021
    Asking €1250

Yeah exactly, the rust seems to be the biggest downfall. Hard to see from the pictures, but from what I can see, it "appears" to be a rust free example

    2006 Hyundai Coupe 1.6 petrol
The 1.6 is never going to break any records, but the Hyundai coupe are actually a very reliable car and not a bad drive
With almost half a years road tax, and NCT until July next year and only 89,000 miles, this could be worth a look, despite the fact its one of the N7 dealerships
    Asking €995

Actually forgot to check earlier, but I see the last owner has owned it for 9 years too!
