    Actually a good question
I have posted here once or twice from phone and could never see any way to add an image

Anybody else know if it can be done?

    Copy in URL address

Works for me on phone/laptop, I usually type out IMG tags. Then copy/paste the URL between them.

I'd snap that a4 up if I wasn't looking for a bangernomic main car to replace my current :( At 26 the insurance companies would be a balls to deal with for a 17 year old car

I really think it's disgraceful that the insurance companies are allowed to do that. There are so many good cars still out there and it makes a joke of the whole NCT system, but you're dead right. Unless you already have insurance with a company for an older car, they won't entertain it.

I renewed 2 weeks ago myself, and while pricing around, a lot of the sites just come back with "We are unable to provide a quote at this time" when I entered my 2004 Avant, but if I amend the quote to my wifes 2008 Alfa, they provide a price!

I'm 31 with a 1.4 98 civic. Was with fbd since 2012 and have max no claims + full licence and it was at 1075 third party this year. Axa quoted me online for 825 fully comp online. Only one I could get a quote of.

Threw that a4 into chill.ie quick quote and actually got a quote of around 1000 (5+ no claims) which at least is something. Maybe they're getting more desperate for money...

You should try a 2006 330d with mods declared.

    It’s eye wateringly expensive.

Aviva are normally quite good with older cars. I got what I consider to be a very reasonable quote for my 2003 M3

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,631 ✭✭✭Mad_Mike

I renewed with Chill this year as they took it last year when it was 15 years old
Last year I got quotes no problem on most sites
This year as it's 16 years old a few returned no quote
It's actually through Allianz and coming in at under 500 quid for fully comp

Funny, I had the opposite result over the weekend. No problem getting a quote for my 03 BMW, but couldn't get a quote for a 2014 passenger Pajero

Really? Aviva won't quote me for my 03 320d. That was online though so maybe I need to phone them? Or maybe I need an M3?!!

And sure why not throw another 1.9 Tdi in for the crack!
2003 Audi A4 Avant with incredibly low mileage if it's genuine @ 140k
Timing belt and clutch have both been done 20k miles ago
I'm a bit biased as my own daily driver is a 2004 Avant, but these are a cracking car and well built
Asking price is €950 and NCT is until April 2021

Julius reckons this is as good as a camper van
Throw a mattress in to it and lie back and stargaze through the sunroof
It has new brake pads front and rear and 2 new front tyres
NCT is until January next year
    It's a 2005 1.6 diesel 407 estate with 300k kms
    Asking €650

Tidy looking original Irish A4 TDI with NCT til March 2021 and a bit of tax, €650

Looks alright for a shade over 500 quid. Not too many owners and allegedly no rust

Tidy looking 520i with 6 months tax and a full years test, €1450

This looks really nice. Hard to find a decent example of one of these now

There’s over €400 worth of tax left on that.

Mileage quoted as 25k but actually odometer shows 254k. Easy mistake.

Weird, they quoted me online. Definitely think for that reason you should get an M3!

Looks like the one on the Garda road traffic twitter the other day

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,631 ✭✭✭Mad_Mike

That's actually not bad at all considering there's almost 6 months tax which is worth about €350
Mileage is nice too for a 14 year old at just over 100k miles
Was it yourself that had one of these Colm?
Tempted to try one at some stage
