Personal thing I know, but I'd have that version of the V70 over the one that replaced it. Tidy, well presented examples look classier than the price suggests.

Bought a S60 in 2013 for the same price as that V70 from this very thread. Same colour and year and a nice bit of test. Got 2+ years out of her and sold it on for a small profit even after what I put into it. I miss recession bangernomics and miss the S60 even more. The one that got away.

I'd be a lot more worried about the fuel consumption of that 1.6 litre engine hauling around the weight of that body than stains on the seats. Them seats are pretty susceptible to water stains as has being mentioned already and besides if the likes of that bothers ye's so much ye are probably in the wrong threadtongue.png

Perfect for that farmers holiday you have being promising yourself:

What amazed me more is this heap is been sold by a dealer...

I'd be ashamed to sell that.

That interior looks like it was sitting in a river or lake, either that or the previous owner was a dirty pig.

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,454 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Looks like the owner worked at Aughanish. Those carpets shouldn’t be red unless they’ve been bleached or something

Isn’t there a pink or red fungus that can look like that?

I like the reg and the colour, I don't care for the tiny wheels or the state of the upholstery.

Seller of the Focus getting a bit desperate for cash. Ad is active for 4 days, mentioned in the ad he was looking for €400 ono, ad is showing a previous price of €350 and now asking €250. On that basis it should be €50 by day 10pacman.gif

That Hyundai. It's amazing how many people go to the effort of hiding the reg in the photos of the car yet show it on the tax and nct form. I've seen it loads of times...

The Focus saloon seems near on impossible to shift ,for whatever reason.

People prefer the practicality of the hatchback so the saloon can be a hard car to sell. Just look how many Corolla liftbacks are out there compared to saloon versions as another example.

I would have thought the saloon Corolla's outnumber the hatch/ liftbacks if any, certainly around more country parts anyway but suppose it has evened up more in recent years. The older generation in particular probably have more of a gra for the saloon variant.

    This might be worth a look;

Guys, last Feb i picked up an 2004 A4 Sport Auto Estate (1.9 Disel B6) with about 240k miles on it (other bangernomics thread actually, a guy known to a boardsie). NCTd to Feb 2020, has the usual intermittent (only flashed once for me) ABS fault and the engine light is on (well on and off) as the stat is stuck open (I bought one but its not fitted). It was imported and wanted for nothing with previous owner and I adore driving it and owning it, full leather and lumber support is a dream. BUT within 3 months of getting it, my wife got a company car and now it looks like we are relocating outside of Ireland by the end of the year.

Thing is, I need it gone, tax is due in sept, so i am contemplating cars for cash set up but so far the only one that got back to me was to scrap it. Presume at 15 years old this is the best route? Or is this market still open? Putting this here as you guys know this market inside out :o

Get the part fitted and throw it up here....

Cash for cars are as dodgy anyway...

With the mileage it ain't worth much and age is going against it.
