Do Goldfinches Migrate

Since I started to use Niger Seed and Sunflower hearts I have at least 30 Goldfinches waiting every morning for me to fill the feeders, I have heard that Goldfinches migrate and I was just wondering will they all go or will I have any left for the Winter, they are beautiful birds and lately I have got very close to one bird in particular who comes on his own and if I got out and walk slowly to the feeder he allows me to come within touching distance, I guess if I put seed on my hand he might just go the extra mile.

This is what I found on a British Garden Bird website
The goldfinch is a highly coloured finch with a bright red face and yellow wing patch. ... In winter many UK goldfinches migrate as far south as Spain.

I thought they stayed in Ireland all year round. Could be wrong though!

They move about in search of food and join flocks in winter . They don't migrate, as in leave the country. They are fickle birds and will hang around a garden for long periods and then just move on.
