Nobody wants to do that here. At least the people who are on here to get the low down on who done what. Go to the politics forum if you want such a discussion

It's not politics to say it needs government intervention there's a clear link to those without getting over political.

No, I'm listening to a 90s Swedish death metal playlist at high volume.

First post....tbh I signed up after reading this and the related threads over the last week... it's fascinating, in a car crash way, seeing who did what to who to get to the point we're at and the (tragic or deserved depending which side of the fence you're on) recent events.
It appears there are at least 2 prime suspects, they have been mentioned enough in various places, so why aren't the police rounding people up and shaking trees to see what falls out?

    They’re obviously asking questions ffs

But there is no point arresting anyone until you have evidence

Arresting people is easy. Getting a conviction is the hard part

Does Irish law vary much from English law?
Here they round up suspects, bring them in for questioning, see what leads develop.
Nothing on social media or local press suggests this has happened yet, other than PC being held on unrelated charges.

So this thread is facts only? Can't have a discussion? Surely part of the discussion is how this can all end or be dealt with?

The mod post on page one is pretty clear on that.

That worked out well in Birmingham and Guildford.

Poor example. That was a police fit up.

It seems to be much harder to get a conviction on this side of the water. Our judges are all headbangers.
The English judges don't mess about, they'll lock anyone up.

Do not request or post any allegations/claims identifying suspects that have not been named by a reputable source

Given the Garda forensics were in the house for the best part of a week I would think they found a lot more than just a trickle of blood. Even if there was a clean up forensics can find blood where there appears to be none, it was said in evidence in the ongoing High Court murder case earlier this week that they used this product to find blood after the bathroom had been fully renovated and cleaned. A few quick sprays and the blood of the victim showed up
    https://www.bluestar-forensic.com/
Yeah luminol will show where blood has been when a UV light is put on it, but the reaction that causes it to fluoresce under the light also degenerates the DNA profile in the blood. So you basically gotta use the luminol as an indicator, then swab all over the place and hope you find a blood spatter that hasn't had it's DNA profile obliterated by bleach or whatever was used to clean the place down, could be something as minute as a spot on the bottom of a chair or sofa leg that wasn't lifted for cleaning.

I didn't mean it to sound like I was questioning the forensics, if they were there for a week or so I'm sure they've been meticulous. I meant it to emphasise how in-depth any possible prosecution has to be to secure a conviction, there can't be any "what ifs" at all.

Has someone posting about the Garda helicopter ever lead into anything even remotely interesting?

    Banable offence imo

Honestly mods, like what the ****. I feel for you guys, it's just a free for all at this stage, permanent deletions. Start the bans?

At least the new thread has gone unnoticed so far, in fairness it's pretty well hidden and thanks for letting it stay that way. Nice to see the old crew back and the proper info flowing again.
