Perhaps it's your use of the term "newbies". Sounds like a the name of a Disney show.

Considering it’s the first time I used the word on this forum, i will repeat my question!

what have you contributed so far?

This thread has gone to new lows. Can the mods get rid of the richkids off here who are "fascinated" with the gangs and how to imprison them?

How is discussing the root problems of why today’s youth are hellbent on destroying their lives, taking it to a new low?

You come across as someone who buries their head in the sand.

    "Richkids". Thats very condescending.

If you used any other racial or socio economic stereotype youd be banned.

Also, it seems that people here are more interested in who shot who, than discussing the root causes of this type of violence and the wider social economic issues.

What's the name of this thread? It might give away why we want to talk about shootings and not how you'd fix the world! Why dont you start your own thread and maybe keep this one to actual shootings as in the title!

Telly, I refer you to Niamh's comments in the first post on this thread, where she specifiaclly states that the wider issues of government policy are important points in any discussion on gangland violence.

You can refer us to anything you want but the simple truth of the matter is that most people who knew anything or anyone involved in the shootings are not now posting on this thread because it has been hijacked by a bunch of nobodys.

    I dispute that.

It seems people are more interested in the local gangster gossip than discussing ways of rooting this out of our society, which is the really fascinating question.

It is a terrible indictment on our society that peope do not wish to take part in that wider debate, particulalry the so called "people in the know".

To be honest, this thread should be in the politics forum and not current affairs.

Why is it in current affairs?

This is a political conversation in essence.

It isn't a political conversation at all. It is for talking about current events around gangland activity not how did we end up here and what we can do politically to resolve the problems.

Niamh was quite clear in the first post of this thread, thats it not up to others to decide what this thread is for.

This thread has just become petty off topic arguments now. It's just embarrassing. Why is everyone so worked up?

All seems quiet on the Western front, seems like a lull to gather the next moves. Few sightings in Mr Price of the Hitman but none verified. Usually the pattern is the Garda are everywhere and the gangsters all have new prices on their heads. Was there any truth in the bounty of 100k on one of the top guys? Think I seen it on RTE website. Have No link though.
