Australia playing very high risk passes right at gain line.
Maybe it was the only way they felt they could take on this England defense.

    Very little advantage given.

England will be happy to concede just 3 here

Forward pass so advantage was over and play called back

Was thinking the same, Oz should have been given a bit longer

    Wallabies threw a forward pass.

    Play had to stop

Clever from Slade, knows it'll only be a penalty but would also snuff out a probable try.
They really are a very clever team.

As cynical as you get and never getting a yellow. Smart play.

A lot of sloppiness in the game. Neither look world beaters.

Shoulder check by sinckler in that last England attack right under Garces nose. Surprised not picked up by TMO

Refereeing has been infuriating - no consistency in the offside calls at all.

I'd say England look very good. Yes there are one or two handling errors but they are machine like when they get going

I think this World Cup has shown that it’s not really much of a surprise though.

Australia need to sort their exit strategy out

Yep, twice now they have given England great territory. Just clear your lines.

Australia seems committed to hari kari today.....

    Authors of their own downfall

how was leliafano supposed to roll away there. seems really harsh.

I disagree, it's consistently not being called unless you're inside the 5m line

They are, and scoring easily but I'm not convinced they're the whole package. Gifted a try which is putting some daylight between them and Australia.

Garces brought his whistle up and I thought he was going to blow but just let play go on.

i think he is the worst ref in world rugby, closely followed by his compatriot.

Watson was in touch, and no way Underhill was on his feet or wasn't in at the side there

It's as much a yellow card as killing it on the ground but never given.

And curry was second man in for that turn over, the first player was cleared back 5 meters

The scoreline has definitely been impacted by Australian kamikazee tactics

Eng to just kick to corners and watch Aus implode

Australia need a score by half time.

Vunipola was take over horizontal there but any fan who calls for that to be penalised need to take long hard look at themselves.

So there's no such thing as offside anymore. Gotcha.

It's funny. That tip tackle by Hooper would have easily been a penalty or even a yellow when that was flavour of the month. Now it's contact with the head, no matter how it happens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

The TMO has fallen asleep has he?

  • Registered Users Posts: 260 ✭✭Movementarian

Farrell off his feet and playing the ball on the ground. Garces: play on!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,994 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

Sinkler twice there, surely it's a penalty next for oz

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,372 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Garces needs to cop on here.

Sinckler is cutting in on every engagement.

Garces looks like a fella in my local Spar, and reffing like him.

None of the refs have a clue what's happening in the front row

Yeah, a blatant one to miss, or ignore.

Someone needs to tell her it's Sinckler not Sinclair

  • Registered Users Posts: 380 ✭✭conor678

There's one answer for England to sort these scrum penalties.

Get Dan Cole on ASAP! Fool proof plan

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,253 ✭✭✭Birdie Num Num

Could watch these scrums all day. It’s like theatre in this game.

    Less of the mansplaining please.

I love how everytime a call goes against Sinkler half the English pack immediately seek to calm him down.

    They know their teammate!

Would be a 1 point game but for turnover.

England good but nothing special. Wonder if Billy Vinupola not fully fit. Very quiet.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,981 ✭✭✭Naggdefy

I'm a bit disappointed with the game so far. As a neutral. Maybe expected too much.

I think they have been pretty good. 15 mins of pressure from Australia and no scores against. Australia haven’t done much wrong.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,297 ✭✭✭✭JRant

The Aussie's are still in this game. Bit more composure with the extra strategies needed.

Oz have some really lovely players and seem to have unearthed a real talent in Petaia but they desperately lack a world class second row and prop.
