Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Assistant Referees more than the referees themselves but they’ve not done it in years, why start now.

Beat Scotland tomorrow and we can definitely beat SA. Depending on on injuries, of course.

It's such a blight. Ruins a game. Hansen should make more of a deal of it in the press. Im annoyed he doesn't whinge about it more.

It actually looks weird when the ball gets flashed out and you look up your tv screen to see green shirts in allblack back line.

SA will probably lose here but their intensity still worries me for the QF. New Zealand are taking advantage of their linespeed with kicking and offloading. Don't think we can do that. No other country could have got those 2 tries in 3-4 minutes to kill the game.

Still promising to see mistakes from SA. Pollard and Le Roux have been crap.

  • Registered Users Posts: 798 ✭✭✭Rockbeast2

What would be the jersey situation were we to play SA in next round.

I presume, as group winners, we get to wear the green?

The. all Blacks are offside at every Ruck too. If the referees aren’t gonna police it, then the teams have to play offside or else they’re at a huge disadvantage

Based on that first 40 minutes I'm not sure who I'd prefer in a quarter final. Great to see them tearing lumps out of each other from an Irish point of view.

The reffing has been poor, but the reality is that SA have had the rub of the green with big calls.

They are one dimensional, it has been that way since 2007. Nothing has changed, Pollard isn't given the responsibility to run the match, ever and they look good once they are able to power over a team. Once you stand up to them physically, they are lost. That is why they have a 55% win percentage, they aren't great when you can stand up to them.

With the guts of a month to recover, unless someone takes a heavy injury I don’t think it’ll make a difference

Yeah this is my thinking too. Its all very well to say SA are looking vulnerable, but do Ireland really have to same capacity as NZ to punish them by scoring tries like that? I don't think so. When you consider the amount of effort it often takes us to get across the line, its obvious that NZ are in a completely different universe offensively. We might beat SA, but it wont look anything like this.
