Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hooper loved that. To be fair, it was a great tackle.

Great and fair, if Davies got his bell rung it was from bouncing off his own man.

It's an openside's dream seeing a scrumhalf trying to break off down the side of the scrum down your throat.

Much better from Aus. looking like they could win this now. Fancy a bit of special from Wales though to kill it.

Welsh tight 5 really need to stand up here

    Yellow coming?

Might end up a penalty try if this carries on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,279 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

Poite must’ve left the cards in his hotel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

That's three penalties now within a couple minutes on the Welsh line now.

Try surely saved the yellow there

I reckon if they hadn’t scored that it would have to have been a yellow

Game on. You have to say, Wales maul defence seems decent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,517 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Wales might be lucky they Hooper dotted that down. Was a sure yellow card otherwise.

    Come on Australia!
    Brilliant game

Annoys me most about rugby today.

Opposition scoring a try should not negate a justified yellow card.
Not seen enough where the defending team concedes 5/7 points and also gets carded.

Didn't Slipper play in the inaugural 1987 tournament? This squad feels so old I'm half expecting Larkham, Campo and Eales to come off the bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

160 tackles made by Wales compared to 86 for Australia. That's mental

My 8-year old: "Dad, is it a scrum now?"
    Me: "Yep"
    Kid: "Oh, I love scrums"
    Me: "Why is that?"
    Kid: "They're just so entertaining"

    Ok then.....

A missed conversion the difference now. Great game to wake up to

You have to admire the Australians resolve
Unfortunately there is no way I could see Ireland coming back from such a deficit.

This is the most points Wales have conceded in a while I think?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

The difference in style between how both of these teams approach the game v Ireland yesterday is stark. It’s an infinitely better spectacle as a result and the skill level of both teams seems so much higher. Also very interesting to see how early both teams introduced subs compared to Ireland yesterday. Both of these teams are playing to win, Ireland even when ahead looked like they were trying not to lose.

Kepu done for offside even though he realised his error and immediately retreated. If that was a penalty every time, rugby would be unwatchable.

Come on Australia.give it to gatland.

What happened there? Has any more detail emerged?

It's particularly galling given Wales have been offline the entire game.

    Utterly frustrating to watch this.

England put 33 on them in August. Competitively, I'd say Ireland back in the 2018 6N.

Neither does Poite. Its stunning how he is treating each team - I'm genuinely baffled.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

In fairness to Poite, I don't think any of the refs have a good understanding of how the offside is supposed to be reffed in this tournament. The inconsistency is mind boggling.

Perhaps Gatland could switch them off and on again?

Its a game of hide the ball for Wales.

    Can they hang on ?

The worst part of rugby this. 3 minutes to complete a scrum.

  • Registered Users Posts: 284 ✭✭steves2

How long for this one scrum?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,859 ✭✭✭ionadnapokot

Yes. Great scrum. This is where Australia win it

There was talk a while back of stopping the clock for scrums. Haven't heard about it in a while but surely be a good idea.

    Tipuric MILES offside.

    Poite: "......"

    That’s a line out.

If you leave the ground to keep the ball in and then land outside the field of play, the ball is out. Unless it’s changed recently! I think there was a long video of Erasmus explaining all the situations iirc.

    Brilliant stuff to watch though
