Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Horrible conditions for a match this AM.

EDIT: Maybe not as bad as they first seemed when tuning in.

Simple stuff for the French here.

Joke stuff from ref. France given away penalties at will and just warning after warning

USA chipping away at the lead. Putting up a decent fight. French indiscipline could mean a card soon.

You could nearly see the ref talking himself out of showing a card there.

    French being asked questions here.

Ben O‘Keefe continuing the trend of multiple last warnings in the Fra v USA match!

The ref is absolutely shocking no way should France not be on a yellow at this stage.

    France are in a battle!

The USA team are fighting like there is oil under the pitch...

If US could get a try here, you would wonder about France

Doesn't help that they're playing like gash.

Vaahamahina will need to work very hard now to secure victory for the US.

In the build up to that try looked like 2 forward passes and did puccamole not obstruct a USA defender as France went over the line

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,127 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

    And quick as that!

What a coincidence, exactly the same time as France showed up to the rugby match!

Amazing what a forward pass or two can do! Game turned right around there.

USA miles offside at most rucks.

Just watched the NZ hacka there.

Just a quick question, are the opposing team not allowed to stand facing the hacka whilst gesticulating the international call sign for " your **** " back at them? Or would that be seen as abusive behaviour?

In fairness there is a lot of similar gesticulation carried out during the hacka itself?

NZ off at 100mph already! Fear for Canada here.

Just respect the haka and get on with it. We play two anthems, other Pacific Islands do a haka and no one minds standing and watching it.

    🤪

not sure why any player that doesn't like to face it doesn't just do what Campeses did back in 1991. I think opposition players in the main like facing it.

The problem is that WR banned teams from challenging the Haka. They're ordered to stand on or behind the 10m line.

It was great in the past when teams would step forward to challenge it. It is a war dance/challenge after all. But apparently that now damages the brand or something like that

    What's the definition of respect?
    Was the Irish 8 disrespectful?

All this standing around is just to ensure its the primary focus for TV.

    Haka™ and all that.

I used to enjoy the old walk forward (particularly the classic Irish one), but this is where we're at now.

Edit: The Irish 8 was both respectful of the haka and paid tribute wonderfully to Axel.

    🤪

I just find it laughable how many people get triggered by it. Nobody cares about the other Pacific Island nations doing it.

    I remember this one well.

In 1989, as the All Blacks were performing the haka in Lansdowne Road before playing Ireland, the Irish lined up in a tight V formation to facing New Zealand and then edged closer and closer to the All Blacks. By the time the end of the haka came, captain Willie Anderson was only inches from Buck Shelford's face

So any form of gesticulation from the opposition is not allowed?

What happens when they play tonga or samoa, do they perform simultaneously or consecutively?

That is not a try btw.

New Zealand don't need help from the officials to invent tries like that.

What were Perenara and the Canadian hooker (Howard?) on about there at that lineout? Perenara giving him grief about something and the hooker was saying something like "you're the best team in the world, come on"? Had someone in my ear at work so couldn't quite make it out.

Noticed that myself. Bit of "sledging" from Perenara perhaps?
