How many bloody times...... he didn't merely tell them to go back where they came from ffs.

    ............:

No, he added more stupidity to it. He essentially told them to "go back" to a place they don't come from, save ancesterally. That's widely recognised as a racist remark and has been long before he fired it out his yapper.

So you agree he said they should go back to where they came from or not?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,423 ✭✭✭✭Outlaw Pete

So he was telling them to go back to America and fix what's broken?

    Another one who doesn't read:
Now this is where the argument keeps getting switched to: but most of them were born in blah blah blah....... but you see, while that is true, that just makes Trump misinformed, at worst, it does not make him racist.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,124 ✭✭✭Odhinn

    Another one who doesn't read:

.....seriously, pull the other one. It was a racist remark and these days if anyone did that in the workplace they'd find themselves facing some form of sanction or other.

Now there's an intelligent comment. Trying to shutter debate with claims of racism is so yesterday.

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,237 ✭✭✭Billy Mays

Not trying to shutter debate, just telling it like it is. Sure isn't that one of the reasons why you guys love Trump so much, cos he tells it like it is?*

*despite the 11,000+ documented lies he's told since his inauguration

It's not about agreeing did he say this or that, we have his bloody tweets, we know what he said, that's not up for debate....... what is up for debate though is if what he said should be deemed racist or not.... and I have explained many many times now my position. Agree or don't agree, I couldn't care less..... but at least get it right:

As far as I'm concerned Trump would have said what he did no matter where those congresswoman came from and no matter what race they were........ as long a they (*IN HIS MIND) were not from America, and were from countries with issues, and were calling America racist, fascist and saying his administration were behaving like the third reich, he would have then told them that maybe they should sort issues out in their countries first, then come back and tell him how he should be running America.

*Now again, for the last time, that only Omar is a refugee, only makes him wrong, it doesn't make him a racist. An argument saying he was an immigrationist might make more sense but I would still say no there also as again, I'm 100% positive if some white Aussie upstart, or a white South African mouthy cretin, or even a Swedish mouthy cretin, had been saying what those despicable idiots had been saying for the last four months....... he have said similar to them too.

Liberals just have an insatiable desire to label people racist and I can't seen any end in sight for that. It's an obsession at this stage. Trump seems to judge people by the content of their character not their race and that's my call on him until I see evidence of otherwise. So far. I have not.

I'm sure everyone has seen clips of people being abused in shopping centres/on the street etc and it's a white person telling the other person of a different skin colour to go back to where they came from.

It's a racist troup that has been used probably like forever.

When people at his rally chanted a straight 'send her back' - he condemned them and said he didn't agree with it.

    I just addressed this:

That's telling a bit of a lie, he waited for feedback before he condemned. At the rally, he stood for 13 seconds in silence with a smug look on his face. He didn't say stop it that it wasn't okay.. Then the feedback after the rally was negative hence the rollback.

Not completely fond of his bombastic ways… but I am a fan of him for proposing and helping to pass a tax cut and cut federal regulations which helps all classes and creates jobs, creating millions of new jobs and bringing unemployment down to 3.9 percent which is the lowest since 2000, standing up to NATO countries for not ponying up enough money to cover the organization’s expenses and their own defense costs, take on the biased news media and not backing down, exposing bias and agenda-driven journalism intended to run him out of office, putting an intense focus on immigration, focusing on the importance of border security and the cost of illegal immigration, targeting the ruthless Salvadoran street gang MS-13, beginning a dialogue with North Korea about ending its nuclear weapons program, focussing attention on Rust Belt states (one of which I live in) and giving respect to white working-class voters overlooked by the elites on both coasts, nominating impressive Supreme Court candidates Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, pulling out of the Paris Agreement on climate change and defying global warming alarmists, renegotiating unfair trade deals in search of better terms, and making politics more accessible to people who have rarely voted or cared about it

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

    Break what you said down...

The content of their character (what they have said) was not to Trumps liking. Throws cheap shots at them based on the colour of their skin.

    It's Still not racist though!

No no, you're wrong there. Donnie said he didn't like the chant so he started talking quickly when it started to drown it out.

Oh who am I kidding?? Add it to the lie list.

Not true. How many times have an Irish person been told to **** back to Ireland by a British person? They are both white.

I myself have been called a bloody foreigner at to **** back home in Ireland because of my Australian accent. Are they racist?

Anyway. It was a brilliant troll by trump telling those women they are welcome to leave. It only made the Democrats rally around these ultra leftists (even as aoc was calling pelosi a racist. :D;)

It also had nothing to do with Obama's skin colour when he spent years claiming he was born in Kenya and demanding his birth cert? He has a track record, it's not isolated..

I just can’t see how anyone can’t support the left when all they do is hound trump and play political tiddlywinks with peoples lives.

All they do is create congressional hearing to ask why trump’s administration isn’t doing anything about the humanitarian crisis at the boarder.

Yet they have the house majority but refuse to pass any bills. Because it’s not politically expedient.

I've read your post and dismissed most of it (In His Mind) Because it's nonsense to be trying to tell people that you know what is going on in his mind

You've zero evidence that he'd say it to anyone else unless you have past tweets/video I've not seen. It falls into Just speculation.

You highlighting that he said THEY can come back as some defense for his words, can be looked at as an admission of what he said was wrong in the first place without flat out saying he was wrong.
