Hard to understand why the want a social democratic side to the State but are radically free market on migration.

Calling it internationalism or solidarity, doesn't change it from being extreme free market practice on the ground.

They need a new voter base. They used to rely on African Americans to always vote democrat but more and more of them are voting republican.

The African Americans are calling it leaving the democratic plantation and blaxit.

So they are signaling the illegal migrants that when they come to power. They will have free healthcare. Free education. Free citizenship for all. They just need to come over. And it’s theirs for the taking.

People are leaving California because of the cost, you are talking 28 to 40k a year to rent a one bed apt in most of it.

Even if there was no tax, people would be leaving.

There's a massive issue with denying voting rights to people in American territory's at the end of the day.

People from these territory's are US citizens enough to use as fodder during wars, but not US citizen enough to have proper voting rights, there's 4million of them and over 98% of them just happen to be NOT white.
Its evident that the USA has issues with non-white people, there's no other reason not to give these US citizens FULL voting rights.

Its so insulting that if somebody is from Puerto Rico or there family was previously from Puerto Rico they are called an immigrant or a daughter/son of a immigrant family. They are not an immigrant though, they are and always have been a US citizen for the last 100 years.

I know many American's struggle with Geography but this goes beyond that, this is trying to label people as less because of their skin colour.

As someone married to a Puerto Rican, you need to educate yourself a bit.

The main reason that PR is does not have voting rights in The United States is that it isn't a State. It's not part of the US, it's a territory, and the Puerto Ricans generally like it that way.

PR politics revolve around the issue of Statehood. Instead of the traditional Democrat/Republican split, in Puerto Rico, there are three parties. The two big ones, about equally sized, are the New Progressive Party (In favour of Statehood), the Popular Democratic Party (In favour of not being a state but still being tied to the US, basically the status quo), and the outsider with about 5% of the vote is the Puerto Rican Independence Party which wants to leave the US umbrella and turn PR into its own independent country.

There have been occasional referenda in PR on the topic of applying for Statehood. For example, yes, they would then get a vote in the US Government. On the other hand, they would also have to start paying federal taxes, the lack of which they're not too unhappy with. They haven't shown a particular preference for it (The 2017 vote was generally boycotted, and not considered a fair reflection)

And it's not as if a Puerto Rican as an individual can't vote for President. (S)He has a US passport. If they happen to move their 98% hispanic self to live in Texas, or California or wherever, they can take their vote as a resident of that State for their voting congresscritter, President, and so on. Similarly, a California or Texas native who moves to become a resident of PR whose skin may be as white as driven snow, no longer gets to vote for a voting congresscritter, President, and so on. It's in no way a race thing, start talking about it when the government of PR actually decides to apply for Statehood because a good majority of the citizens want it.

So now political satire is not allowed? There’s a whole thread in the politics forum that is up to number 6 with thousands upon thousands of posts dumping on trump but I post a satirical video about pelosi and aoc and it gets censored?

Republicans only attained 9% of the black vote in recent mid terms (November 2018). So it's not true to suggest there is some massive swing. Bush Jr got 11% of black vote in 2004.

If higher taxes was the reason for middle class decimation then why was the 1950s a boom period for that group in the US.. taxes were 90% then.

The reason for collapse of middle class is opposite in fact. Cutting taxes for the ultra rich and giant corporations has caused a huge shift of wealth to the top 1%.

The big cities sure as like every major city living space that reaches a certain standard is very limited compared to the amount of people who want to live there. Its cheap enough to live in California away from the coast but very few want to live in desert or high in the mountains.

It’s amazing how much disinformation the liberals have disseminated through their biased media for so long. It’s now taken as fact.

Just like the fact that it was trump fault for the state puerto rico and that he was a racist for calling out their government. Well how did that turn out?

If the accusation that the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino had to pay a $200,000 fine because it transferred black and women dealers off tables to accommodate a big-time gambler’s prejudices..... then that absolutely was racist.

The rest of the bollox it that article is just that, bollox.

Suggesting he called all Mexican immigrants rapists and that that there were “some very fine people” among the white supremacists are two things that aren't bollox though, they're just lies.

He referred to Mexican rapists as rapists and went out of his way to make it clear that the white supremacists was not who here was referring to with that comment:

People really need to stop repeating these lies, or linking to articles that repeat them.

    You're either lying, or misinformed.

I see this deranged congresswoman is now claiming the Electoral College is racist because people in "flyover country" don't matter. I think to myself who in their right mind takes this woman seriously. Then yesterday I spent the day in Washington DC at a university that the Princeton Review ranked as 1st for top colleges with the most politically active students. The university is known for producing world leaders and shakers. Green this and green that nonsense rules the day, LGBTwhatever is all the rage, and AOC is like a rock star there among students. Our future is doomed! DOOMED! I told my kid beware liberal indoctrination and there is no room in the budget for bail.

I also discovered people with Diplomat license plates are the worst drivers in the world.

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

You bet she winds up Republicans. She's the future of the Democrat party and of which will destroy the country if the likes of her are allowed to set legislation. Thankfully Nancy Pelosi still has some common sense.

A few weeks back you were saying AOC and her gang would destroy the Dems and that's great or something, no?

Look Trump has a good chance of getting back in. How you settle your conscience on supporting the ruination of your country isn't on AOC.

You've a mentally unstable attention seeking bigot in the WH. Anyone supporting that is doing serious damage to the American people and likely doing it because their team is Republican, which is an outright disgrace IMO.

Little side tracks like complaining about AOC is pointless Notobtuse. You're going to need a bigger distraction.

The world has gone from laughing at the U.S. to worrying about it.

Let’s look at what Trump has done:

    • Pulled the United States out of the terrible Iranian nuclear deal.
    • Stood up to NATO countries for not ponying up enough money to cover the organization’s expenses and their own defense costs.
    • Took on the news media and not back down, exposing bias and agenda-driven journalism intended to run him out of office.
    • Put an intense focus on immigration, the importance of border security and the cost of illegal immigration, including U.S. citizens killed by the undocumented.
    • Targeted the ruthless Salvadoran street gang MS-13.
    • Begin a dialogue with North Korea about ending its nuclear weapons program.
    • Noted Facebook, Twitter, and Google threatens democracy, and online freedom.
    • Facilitated a roaring economy.
    • Focused attention on Rust Belt states and give respect to white working-class voters, that was overlooked by the elites on both coasts.
    • Challenged elitism.
    • Created millions of new jobs and brought unemployment down to 3.9 percent, the lowest since 2000.
    • Focused national attention on the opiod crisis, including a look at doctors who overprescribe pain pills.
    • Nominated impressive Supreme Court candidates Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
    • Proposed and helped pass a tax cut and cut federal regulations.
    • Pulled out of the Paris Agreement on climate change and defy global warming alarmists.
    • Renegotiatd unfair trade deals in search of better terms. And although past presidents knew all the bad China has been doing regarding trade and stealing designs Trump is the only guy with balls enough to actually do something about it.
    • Target racial preferences at colleges and universities, which often hurt intended beneficiaries by lowering standards.
    • Refocus immigration debate by ending DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and trying to force Congress to confront the thorny issue of what to do with "Dreamers," who were brought to the USA illegally when they were kids.
    • Shook up both the Republican and Democratic establishments and remained independent from the Washington cartel.
    • Made politics more accessible to people who have rarely voted or cared about it, and widen the door of civic engagement.

Trump might be an attention seeker but the results of his actions is anything but mentally unstable.

Anyway, I was permanently banned from posting in Politics for not knowing what Reddit was all about… No joke.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.

Trying to compare passing mentions of Trump to your love-boner soliloquy (pretty disingenuous list at that, full of errors and omissions) is humorous at best. But, this is a thread about ICE attacks so I’ll keep my comments which deep dive into the inanity that has been Trump for the politics forum. Far be it from my job to feed your desire to have conversations you’ve been banned from having.

If you would look at my posting history in Politics it WOULD boggle the mind why I got banned. But that is neither here nor there as this is a much better category. I was also threatened with a permanent ban for saying all indications show the Trump campaign was spied on. Turned out I was the only one here CORRECT on the matter.

But back to the topic of looney tunes AOC. She's now being lambasted for saying the heartland doesn't matter. Just more evidence of how out of touch the Democrats have become.
