Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RTE buried the story about people moving their money from Anglo to the post office, so don't expect them to tell you the truth about any forthcoming crash.

RTE buried the story about people moving their money from Anglo to the post office, so don't expect them to tell you the truth about any forthcoming crash.
For most banks, the last banking crisis was one of confidence. This isn't the most popular opinion, but sometimes the best thing might be to withold information. One of the most eminent journalists in financial circles, John Waters, has only recently disclosed that he chose not to publish information of a bank run in Manhattan which would probably have greatly exacerbated the last crisis

ll I needed was to get a photographer to take a few shots of the well-dressed bankers queueing for their money, and write a caption explaining it. We did not do this. Such a story on the FT’s front page might have been enough to push the system over the edge. Our readers went unwarned, and the system went without that final prod into panic.

Was this the right call? I think so. All our competitors also shunned any photos of Manhattan bank branches. The right to free speech does not give us right to shout fire in a crowded cinema; there was the risk of a fire, and we might have lit the spark by shouting about it.

I like terriers' scrappy personalities, they are like little Napoleons, have no idea of their short size -- completely fearless. But often not child-friendly.

Have never met a Westie that wasn't a bollox. Real prima donnas.

I'd expunge that statement before Butters comes along. You have been warned.

Yeah but this is exactly my point. Joe likes to portray RTE as always bringing us the truth but this is not the case. Whether you agree with the reasons for them doing so, or argue that they were "protecting us from ourselves", is irrelevant. They stopped being truthful about the story and buried it, for reasons that they determined were in our interest.

    Well excuse focking me!

I’m off to report you to the mods for that.....oh, wait.

Joking aside though, I honestly don’t know how you’ve gotten to that point? I find they have way more personality than most dogs - and I’ve been heavily involved in dogs charities for over a decade so have met, housed and rehomed more breeds than I can probably remember, but have had dozens of Westies alone pass through my home.

I don’t see the Prima Donna traits at all - honestly - I’d tell you if I did. One of my friends was petrified of dogs until she met mine, now she has her own dog as a result of seeing how gentle my two were (this was a gradual progression over a period of about 2 years of interactions).

Did you have a bad experience with a Westie as a chisler caller?

Conor McGregor. Back in the bad books again. Boycott his whiskey.

Dublin council charging people for signs on the street.

L and N plate drivers getting flashed and "pulled off". I think that its what was said. My hearing is not the best.

Dealers selling drugs to kids in Tralee, believe it or not.

Yep. It's a mechanically-propelled vehicle. While the law makes an exception for electric bicycles that are set up to electrically assist pedalling, a vehicle that can be propelled purely by the throttle falls into the area of needing type approval, licencing, and all that stuff.

100% agree caller, they are an absolute mare around Dublin city at the minute, seem to ignore lights, rules and all other road going activities. Most don't seem to wear helmets either, they are lethal.
