Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It is, but there's a strict protocol in place whereby we don't open a new thread until we agree an amusing :rolleyes: title so to speak for the new thread. Also, I think only the mods can officially open a NEW Lahv Lahn Thread and dat. Be careful or you'll get a ban for backseat modding now....joke!

Yeah but it isn't as strict as that. We can go slightly over the 10k.

As Butters said, there is a practice here where the users' pick a new thread-title before one opens. It doesn't necessarily have to be before today's show.

I can't remember Friday. Did Katie sign off and thank us for our service, or did she say she'd be back?

I know Joe said he'd be doing FF from 'the ploughing' on Thursday.

She was overtime, so she may just not have had time.

Joe left on a Wednesday so might indeed not be back until Thursday to round-out the three weeks. .

Lahv Lahn: The "Did I mention I have a new buke coming out soon so to speak?" edition.

Because, let's face it, that's going to the No. 1 trending topic on the thread for the next 10,000 posts.

Didn't catch all the promo, but no doubt its garbage.

I quite like Butters' "Last of the Summer Whine".

I can see it now; a handful of hill-dwelliing grumpy auld b8ggers in their early retirement years who have nothing better to do than phone a radio show that's hosted by a clown with morbid makeup.

You can imagine the discussion between Duffy's agent and RTE.

Agent: "My client IS the show. Without him there is no show. If you don't pay him what he wants he will leave and bring the show with him".
RTE Manager: "Well I'm a very nervous individual and would not like to be blamed for Joe Duffy leaving, so yes here is a load of money".
Agent: "Oh and by the way, he wants ten week's holidays".
RTE Manager: "But I thought it was not possible to have the show without him?"

The way that RTE pander to him is sickening.

I think this is what psychiatric hospitals are for.

Successive governments, in their infinite wisdom, have decimated residential psychiatric services in favour of the much cheaper "community care".

I'm not saying we should go back to mass detainment in psych wards, but it does seem the pendulum has swung too far.

I know it's not a popular point of view these days but there are some unfortunate people that it's not safe for them to be out and about. For everyone's safety they need to be confined in a secure institution.

Agent: "Oh and by the way, he wants ten week's holidays".
    It's already nine weeks, caller.

I assume Joe will have at least another two weeks off, maybe 3 weeks, before December 31.

That would give us a total of about 3 months holidays per annum -- not including Bank Holidays.

At the present time, Joe has taken on average about 30% of days off (excluding public holidays)

I used the same jacks as Sir Richard Branson, back in 96. We stood "shoulder to shoulder". Should I call in to Ray's show?
