Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Is there a warden? FFS

Why didn't he called the Gardaí, or he intervene?

Why do they say no one else did.

Anyway, posting it on Facebook seems to be the way to go.

Why would they need the CCTV cameras if they had the video from facebook, the witnesses and the victim?

I tell you I cannot understand why people don't realise the Gardaí are conning them, they're covering up crimes.

Did anyone catch the lunchtime news interview with D4bes? The awkward bit where presenter asked her about the contracts for around half a million of highest paid contractors-she stumbled over it awkwardly and deflected quickly from that particular issue.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,732 ✭✭✭BarryD2

Yeah, heard that but she must surely have been expecting it. Think she said something along the lines 'oh, we'll have to look at these etc etc., blah blah'

For which I'd read - we'll do as little as possible and wait for the government to pony up more cash.

She was probably thinking to herself “I’ll weed out the newsroom if they (the lesser paid summer minions) come up with awkward stuff like this”.

She didn't bring her own RTÉ Bingo Buzzword Card then, did she?

    "Worth every cent"
    "Underpaid if anything"
"Look at the enormous amount of advertising revenue they generate"
"If we don't pay them top dollar the BBC in Britain or NBC in the US will poach this world class talent"

Etc. and dat, so to speak.

I rarely listen to Da Live line any more, can't take that level of misery any more, but I was just wondering if this topic, which was one of the big debates in the media today, happened to be discussed on the show?

I'd bet my mortgage it wasn't, the same way he never discusses Rte salaries when that is flavour of the week.

    Are you new here?

I don't listen myself anymore either NIMAN but come on now, you know it wasn't. Better chance of him saying Bertie is a crook than discussing RTÉ salarfees.

I reckon Joe is on a mission to garner the LGBQTXYZ community vote for when he runs for president.

All joking aside todays caller reminded me of a character in Nenagh when we were kids in the 70s . He was the main cleaner of the church and would come to work in a dress and carry a handbag. Some man to do flower arrangements for a wedding or funeral. He was never ostracised by anyone. He was just C*****. Once you got used to him you never noticed. Damn good accordion player too, and I fcuking hate the accordion. He'd remind you of Freddie Mercury in the "I want to break free" video. Always had a fag stuck in his mouth while polishing the altar.

He died a few years ago and got a great floral send off.
