Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi everyone,Hardly ever post here, but am a dedicated lol along reader!

I feel lousy for people who have jewellery stolen.

You do NOT have to follow the instructions of sales assistants telling you what to do.
Never let jewellery out of your sight, what are sales assistants going to do if you say, eh no, I'll keep it here on the table where I can see it.

I bring my few bits of jewelley when travelling all the time, one reason sentimental, but main reason not insured (very expensive and do not want to leave at home in case of burglary). It's in my bag, which I do not put somewhere I can't see it. I do not let it out of my sight ever and follow it religiously through security in airports.. No way would I put it behind me on a seat.
I consciously do not wear jewellery when travelling. Hope I haven't jinxed myself now.

We can be too quick to follow instructions to our own detriment. Thoughts?

Rules are for the bidance of fools, and the guidance of wise men. And yes that does apply to the charter, too, if you ask me!

You're dead right. Too much deference is not a good quality.

Edit: neither are split infinitives - mea culpa.

Church of Scientology, postal deliveries and a wait of 30 minutes for an ambulance in Dublin mayyyy be all covered today.

Im interested in the ambulance thing and the way they are dispatched. I'v heard of some sort of turf war between the Dublin fire brigade and the national ambulance service before.

If the fibre-gade are involved, you can be sure he'll cover it.

Yeah I remember watching some disaster documentary (could have been about the cruise ship that crashed) and they were told to go back and wait in cabins and they were screwed if they did.
