    Because of huge increases years ago we cancelled our health insurance and started a savings plan instead, now we have a tidy sum saved and luckily no one in our family got ill during this time, but my husband is now 50 and I will be 50 next year. So do you think I should bite the bullet and get cover or hope for the best and keep saving.

    First step, go somewhere other than Boards for advice on this matter, it sounds like you need professional advice
