Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very sad. One of very few League of Ireland players I had heard of before I started going to games. Must have only been in his 50's.
    RIP

But surely this can't be true. Sure none of them even said anything on twitter about it and everyone knows only Mike "the great white hope" Treacy is the only one brave enough to stand up to the bullies in the FAI who are known friends of the Rovers board...

Funny how this comes out when his mates in UEFA and without a doubt the FAI (Mooney must have reported to his boss that they have dirt on JD) decide they want to distance themselves from him publically. First the suspension from UEFA and then this......Timing is everything :rolleyes::rolleyes: Up the Rovers.....

Did you actually read the article at all or just not very well?

The 2nd one of those has already been basically debunked and the first one is fairly difficult to prove.

    Don’t believe everything you read.

Gavin Shels said Riga were rubbish. Just as well we didn’t believe that either :)

Played for Limerick too, scored 4 goals in a game for us once.

Just looked it up, he was only 48. Fell ill a month ago.

It is amazing. The little ***** who ****ed off supporting Shels when times were tough seem to have made their way back.
Success draws the little **** moths back to the **** flame.

Happens easily from standing on them? Im a fat **** at 20 stone and they never bent under me!

Did this conversation shift from Shels fans smashing up a pub and the stadium to one about whether Shels fans were overly careless?

Which is the argument at this stage? because it’s becoming tricky to follow? Did anyone personally see anyone actually do anything wrong?

No, I don’t think those who stopped supporting the club 13 years ago have suddenly reappeared in sizeable numbers.

But it’s amazing how Longford supporters seem to know so much about things they haven’t a clue about.

Anybody know the attendance of Bohs vs UCD on Friday night?

If it interests anyone, myself and another guy keep tabs on every facet and stat of Bohs season. There's another fella that does it for Pats.

Realistically, everyone was fantastic, but the 2 CBs and Oscar Brennan in particular were everywhere.

Your keeper, made 3 brilliant saves from what were I think our only 3 chances... The one he got down and pushed out for a corner and the free kick late on that was going in...

There was a piece of broken seat thrown onto the pitch by shels fans after their first goal... I know the town photographer was asked by garda and faí to get a photo of it before it was moved off the pitch, which he did, the seats were from just lads bouncing around on them and kicking them etc, from looking at tolka it seems that just what they do to seats.
Fair play, they were by far the better side last night, and it was nice to see so many of them after a quarter of that crowd were there for the first game against them this season...
For the shels fans complaining about being put in the "cage".. That's not the clubs decision, it's the guards and the FAI... The last thing Longford want is to pay for that many guards etc, costs a ****in fortune

Ye McCabe has come on since becoming No.1, still not 100% on him but he is proving himself. Some turnabout since he had a bad shoulder injury at the start of the year which could have seen him not signing for us.

LOL at all the Longford BS rumours.... between being ejected from Valetine's, to smashing up a pool table, to causing nearly €4k worth of damage to a petrol station.... Granted all the rumours seem to stem from one lad on Twitter - bitter chap. Can also safely say, I didn't see anyone smash a seat purposely and I was right in the middle of the crowd - after the goals there was chaos - no malice in it.

Who smashed up most of the seats in Tolka?

I'm hearing what happened at the petrol station is much funnier than the rumours and videos going around.

it looks like an abandoned football stadium. the staff in charge should be ashamed of themselves.

That photo is about two years old. The moss is long gone as well as some of the more weathered seats.

Ah that's shocking behaviour. I'm sure yourfriend on Twitter has forwarded the incident to the FAI and/or the Gardaí.

Oriel was modelled on the aftermath of the Red Star v Dinamo Zagreb riot in 1990.

There wasn’t a huge crowd at the last game at home against St. Pats but it’s a good opportunity to see fringe players in action.
