ESB boxes

    One shows the mains ESB box with the meter. Below it there are 2 smaller boxes. Both the smaller boxes have a rolled up black cable as shown in the other picture.

    What are the 2 smaller boxes for?

    Can only see one end of a cable. Looks like this

    In the other box, I cannot see the end. Goes off inside the house.

    So the house looks like when it had a make over rewired coax and other services are too hand.Thats handy.

    They are connection boxes for digital tv (Not Virgin Media or Sky) and the other box will be normally be a phone line.
    AFAIK they are there so driveways are not dug up with different services being brought in.

    My sister has one of those boxes for VM co-ax TV/broadband in Lucan, early '90s house. No good for SkyQ if there is only a single cable.
