Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Matic, McTominay and Mata. It'll be like watching the Craggy Island over-75's in midfield today.

United XI vs West Ham: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Young, Maguire, Lindelof, Matic, McTominay, Mata, Pereira, James, Rashford.

Maybe he's worried about missing family time over xmas.

Only really James and Rashford to provide pace there, gonna be a long game.. bench pretty uninspiring apart from Gomes.. Fred should have started ahead of Matic I think, I'd say we will see him after 60 mins or so with matic playing 90 on Thursday

So if Rash goes off injured, we have no one else up front. I think it’s a mistake not putting Greenwood on the bench.

He has a knock I think.. Ole basically ruled him out.. no point risking him..

    Pereira....sigh

    Fred should be starting IMO

Same with the Leicester game, both lineups are very similar in quality

Greenwood has tonsillitis confirmed by Olé

Everything after the back 4 is really the stuff of nightmares, James aside.

How do we have such a poor squad!

The back 4 is not exactly that of dreams eithier

Who’d have thought that Mourinho, one of the greatest managers in the history of the game, actually speaks sense?

Really good criticism on show, spot on with the De Gea situation too I think.

Apart from Young, the GK and DF is one of the strongest in the league.

Lukaku has now scored four goals in six matches in all competitions for his new club who lead the Serie A table, having taken a maximum 12 points from their opening four matches of the new campaign.

    Who would have thought it

I'm sure he has missed some though, miscontrolled some passes too. It's all well and good a striker guaranteeing goals but that only really matters if he never misses anything and never miscontrols anything. Sure what would we need with a striker that will get goals???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,220 ✭✭✭Jurgen The German

Our midfield is so bloody underwhelming.

He was absolutely ****e during the week in the CL, he'll score against lower teams but his big game contribution is woeful which was evident while he was here.
Its of his biggest gripes people had with him.

For the amount of abuse he used to get while at united on this forum is it's crazy the way people have tinted glasses about him now

Not sure it's solely about wanting to keep Lukaku

More about a striker we will let go is scoring goals for a different team whilst United are struggling for goals with an over reliance on Rashford who's goalscoring record is not what it should be for Man United

Someone who could score against anyone would be great.

We cant even manage to score against the lower teams at the moment.

That De Gea is undoubtedly very good but there was probably no need to give him the deal we did when all of the big club doors closed for him after a dodgy season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,330 ✭✭✭Dwarf.Shortage

Wan Bissaka is Gandalf one on one

  • Bring on Fred fs

Basically said we didnt need to give him a massive contract as he had no suitors. I dont agree as to it would cost £50m at least for us to replace him plus at least £150k per week in wages. It was a no brainer to tie him down to a long time deal imo.

I'm struggling to remember what his positives are.

He's a local lad, is that it?

We keep sending these floated corners to Maguire at the back post. He can do nothing with them.

The last corner was at least a bit better, can't understand not playing to our strengths with Maguire in the box.

Haven't used him all season in that sense

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,690 ✭✭✭ElChe32

Why do we persist with ****ing crosses into the box like that. We don't have a target man in there. Frustrating to watch the constant waste of possession. Also..Rashford...poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,225 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

    Why switch full backs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

    Have Young and AWB switched?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭hognef

Did we actually swap the fullbacks, or are they just taking this long to get back in position again?

Even after that, the ball was floated in and he didnt attack it, he could see what was happening but didnt go for it, cowardly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,834 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

It’s mostly all neat and tidy, good and efficient until we hit the opposition box, where we neither have the final ball or general ingenuity to create any sort of chance. Typical of the exception to all that was when Rashford got on the end of a ball, into the box, time and space, nobody near him, then stepped on the ball and fell over, genius.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,220 ✭✭✭Jurgen The German

Attack the bloody ball ye wasters.
