Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do these guys even play football throughout the week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,304 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    1-0 is currently 7/1 lads

Lump on, we'll score but looks like Astana all over again

The lack of quality throughout this squad is astounding.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

You’d really struggle to know how far apart these teams are in league positions if you had no idea who either team were.

    United or Rochdale?

They’re a better side than Astana anyway

You'd hope so considering how much was spent on Maguire and AWB

It's great to see teams from the lower divisions play decent football these days. Was similar with Derby last year. Gone are the days of playing horsesh*te teams in the early rounds of these cups.

I was just thinking the opposite. Bring back the walk over days.

Lingard is really talented at standing behind an opposition player so nobody can pass it to him.

Well rojo looks in the mood , more threatening up front than lingard anyways.

Rojo has been our greatest goal threat so far. Says it all really

Said it before, he's great to watch in the sense you don't know what you'll get.

25 yard strikes will either go top corner or making an appearance at the Bishops Blaize

    Lingard is awful.

Fred is too cautious and is going backwards and sideways too much.

    Pogba is ordinary.

Chong and Perreira aren’t getting much joy.

    Standard United game really.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,054 ✭✭✭wanderer100

    Ah here Paul

  • LOL Pogba

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

Ahhhhhh Paul. Missed a sitter of a header.

  • This is desperate
    Yet again
Devoid of an actual plan on the pitch

In fairness Rochdale are decent enough, still fancy us to nick it though.

Greenwood should have cut across the defender with his first touch instead of away from him there.

Would have made the defender slow or foul.

Lovely bit of play leading to lingard header. Pity didn’t go in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

    Could Rojo please stop shooting...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,005 ✭✭✭BDI

Rojo close with 25 yard low drive, greenwood probably could have changed the direction on it and scored but didnt.

Heaps of shots from outside the box and crosses is all we have managed against this side its awful tbh

Hopefully we have relegation clauses in the contracts

Someone point out the World Cup winner on the field

The lack of goals is becoming a serious serious problem. If we can’t score against bloody Rochdale , i give up. Feel sorry for Ole, these players are useless

  • Something seriously wrong
The opposition we are playing isn't making the slight bit of difference to what I'm watching for months now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Awful stuff altogether. Not much else to be said.

Ah lads, I havnt seen United this comfortable ever. A goal will come. Seemsits a crisis if we arnt 4-0 up by half time these days

If we cant execute the managers game plan against Rochdale with these players then thats on the manager tbh, and if his game plan is lots of sideways passing in midfield, loads of crosses and long shots he should be long gone.

O **** have we got worms here again haven't been paying much attention tho the thread of late

It's been getting worse week by week.
There isn't any actual tactical plan up front.
The players are actually playing as individuals to an extent thus shooting from distance, aimless crosses and passing in front of the defense instead of in behind it.
Not one attacker is making any forward runs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,121 ✭✭✭✭Mantis Toboggan

Wish Ole would go back to the attacking football he played when he arrived.

Just to add to this, I think you’d be absolutely mad to think Ole is gonna turn this around now. A league 1 team look to have more of a plan/identity than we do. That’s on the manager.

Rojo outright upfront might be a solution. The argentine Gary Doherty.

Last time someone said we were comfortable in West Ham game, United conceded pretty quickly after.

    Hope you didn't jinx it..

Williams on for Jones. Injured again I presume?

Well well, look who is injured again. Absolute piss take how that lump of glass got a new contract.

Thats insane the most injury prone player we have ever had no doubt

He gets in the suites with the sponsors and puts his arm around them and jumps up and down teaching them the chants.

    Worth every penny Woodward said.

Wish Ole would go back to the attacking football he played when he arrived.

He can afford to, defense is solid, midfield too but the top four there is lacking experience and cutting forward ability...

We have a 17 year old, leading the line, on his own up front and a mix of bang average (Lingard) and inexperience (Chong, Peirera) to try and supply him, you can argue not great team selection but again, so seriously lacking in attacking options at this club it’s fûcking almost criminal.
