Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Keeper didn't even see it been kicked until it was too late and it was in the back of the net.

    Big Mac!

First goal vital in a game where both teams love a counter.

Good game this overall, light on real chances.

Thats a great goal and great to see him step up again with the chances given.

I don't see a deflection on that shot

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

McTominay talked during the summer about improving his shooting and getting more goals.

Let's hope a sign of things to come!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,159 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

It’s been confirmed by Gary Neville that it took a deflection, cutting edge commentary.

    Why was xhaka not booked?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,495 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

45 minutes of scutter with a cherry on top.

I presume the yellow for Xhakaor whoever it was who blatantly fouled Lingard is on the way...

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Wonder why Torreira wasn't booked for pulling back Lingard in that attack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭limnam

    We've been so bad.

    Pogba, usual. woeful.

    Rashers. Horrific.

    McT. Never in doubt.

Not every angle proving a deflection but that last one did.

Haha I know your glass half full today but this has been awful.

Even the goal came from a poor cross followed by a poor pass.

    Super finish from McTonimay anyway.

No deflection, the Arsenal lads managed not to get hurt successfully

    What a hit!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 833 ✭✭✭blackwave

Delighted for McTominay to get that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,461 ✭✭✭✭Zeek12

Jesus, Rashford couldn't even get the assist right! That pass was meant for Pogba
But super strike from Mc Tom. So pleased for him! We needed that lift.

I hope Ole shows some bravery now and makes the changes early. Greenwood needs to come on. Maybe Mata too.
Rashford very poor. And Perreira too.

    Massive goal

When so many aren’t at the races, great to see McTominay step up

    Superb goal

Would love to kick on now second half

Great time to get a goal right before half time. Game is well from over though . Need he 3 points , defence needs to stay compact . Tuanzebe has been fantastic

Arsenal defender ducked fo that shot

    Pepe 72 million wtf

Terrible game but we'll take that. Great finish but speaks volumes that it came from one of the midfielders. There's no goalscorer amongst any of the front four. Rashford hasn't a clue. Perreira and Lingard huffing and puffing. James at least has something about him but he's not a finisher. Depressing when they had to swap him and Rashford. Might be space on the break now, so try and keep the pace on the pitch.

    Very small one.

The real reason it went in was the defender ducking i'd say :pac:

  • Awful half overall, same issues week in week out
Blessed with that strike but take it given what little creativity we have going forward
Some sweet strike minor deflection but keeper was routed regardless

Dan James hard work made that goal.

That was one horrible half of football, apart from the goal of course

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,667 ✭✭✭Whatsisname

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Rashford off at half time. Seemed to be holding his left arsecheek a lot towards the end and Ole was signalling 10 more mins to him at the 35th min.

His confidence looked absolutely shot when he slipped on that chance.

Screamer from McTominay tho, i’m behind the goal it went in and it felt like it was in slow mo.

A level above, great on the ball and trying to link midfield and erm, attack, making clever runs himself too.

Would like to have seen Maguire bring the ball out of the back a bit more. I thought that's what we were paying all that cash for. Arsenal's trio in the centre made it very difficult for us to go through them. We were at our most dangerous on the counter and while pressing.

Whats the point when no one moves in front of him?

Sky trying their hardest to show a deflection.

It was a great strike either way

It was unreal control from him, stop it dead then the little roll, especially considering how wet it is out there. If the likes of pogba did it there would be lads pulling the guts of themselves over it.

    I take your point.

I like games like this in general, where two teams who have the same ideas come up against each other, both teams want the counter attack. United won't sit back and concede ground as readily as Emery did against Ole last season. So it is interesting to me to see how the teams operate.

Both teams are missing the quality of the old days for sure.

If Rashford did it, Neville would of exploded

    Rashford isn't fit

Certainly not. Greenwood needs to replace him asap before he goes off injured.
