    Are eulogies by family members of the deceased from the altar or Sanctuary area permitted at funerals in your local church(es)?

    Depends.

    The last funeral I was at placed family reflections, given by various family members, after the liturgy. The priest eulogised the deceased for his sermon. It was almost certainly at a scheduled Mass, so it gave an option to family and close friends of the deceased to hear very personal reflections, while allowing others to honour a local while at their usual Mass, but not be drawn too much into too personal. I think this in some way is shaped by an archdiocesan ruling of some time back.

    Personal eulogies were given at my aunt's funeral nearly three years ago.

    It depends on the priest really,

    Some priests seem to prefer to deny that personal touch at funerals
