Myself and the wife are going to open a joint account this week. Both BOI customers. Any ideas what bank would be best for a joint account with minimal fees etc.It will be a savings account with minimal withdrawal and a permanent balance of above €2500..Its for savings mostly..Thanks in advance

You could open an Extra Current A/C with KBC and an Extra Regular Savings account.

To receive the 1.75%* rate on the Extra Regular Savings account:
Must deposit minimum of €2k paid into the current account a month (no minimum balance though)
Have to deposit between €100 and €1000 a month to the savings account
The savings deposit must come from the current account
The 2 accounts must be in the same name, so in this case joint names
Also, can deposit up to €10k in the savings account when opening the account

We do this and use the current account to pay mortgage, bills and all other joint costs

*This has been reducing around every 6 months so don't expect it to stay at that
