Hi all,

I need a new gaming PC, any help is really appreciated.

1. What is your budget? €1000 - €1200

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, streaming and maybe video editing

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

5. Do you need a monitor? No

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? No

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No

8. How can you pay? Card


Notes: I would love a AMD Ryzen 5 3600. Also I can wait for the MSI b450 Tomahawk MAX to be released, if that helps. Same for a AIB Radeon RX 5700, I can wait if it is the best option.

MSI MAX motherboards are looking like early September.
AIB RX 5700 models are coming in mid-August.

If you don't want to wait, you can just about squeeze an X570 board in, and mod a reference RX 5700 to dual-fan.

Do I really need the CPU cooler and the thermal paste? I heard the stock Ryzen 5 3600 cooler is good enough?

Also would make sense to get rid of both storage disks and get a 1TB SSD instead?

CPU cooler not 100% necessary, but Ryzen 3000-series does better the cooler the CPU is running.

Check out AMD's StoreMI - basically creates a hybrid drive so you end up with 2.5Tb of decently-fast storage for the same price as a fast 1Tb SSD.

I basically changed the case, the PSU and the graphic card for an aftermarket one.

Does the changes make sense? I am ok with the costs increase. Also looks like the CPU cooler is out of stock, any other alternative?

The Sapphire Pulse model is a dual-fan cooler - no need to buy the Arctic Accelero if you go for that model.
Do note however that it's the same price as the faster RX 5700 XT (albeit reference model).

Arctic Freezer 34 is a decent budget CPU cooler.

Thank you! I changed the CPU cooler. Unless it is a big mistake I think I will go with the aftermarket rx 5700, or should I wait for other manufacturers? I am assuming that the case and the PSU are fine.
