Just in tonight, don't think I can listen along sadly

Starship is an epic tune though :p

I do quite like bond songs. Well I wouldn't usually listen to them outside of the movies. But I like them in the films.

    Aww Kolido! Sorry man!

The person who submitted this will be happy to know that I'm not quite as cruel as fixxxer who suggested that anyone who submitted a song by Williams, Zimmer or Elfman should be disqualified :P

I really, really liked this piece but it's also something I'm unlikely to listen to unless I'm actually listening to the specific soundtrack.

Falling just outside the top 10 is
    Deleted User
in 11th place with 10 points.

I have a vague recollection that people weren't mad about this next song when it came out first. I always quite liked it and it's been a while since I heard it. She has a fabulous voice and I think she did a decent job with the Bond title track. I was a bit surprised that some others didn't show up.

13th place and 8 points for
    Necro
    with this.

    Chooooon!

I almost picked a Gladiator piece. Did I say this already but the entire album is superb. The Titanic, Braveheart and Gladiator soundtracks are maybe my favourite movie soundtracks. The Tron Legacy one by Daft Punk is also fantastic and I can't believe I'm only thinking of this now as a perfect submission. Doh!

In 9th place is a duet. I started off really liking this and I still do but as I listened more it slipped down the list a bit. Both singers do a good job with this but it was little too repetitive...I kept waiting for a little bit more.

Apologies for that one. The song in 10th place is one I'm more familiar with from another singer. I love this artist's stripped back verson of it and her voice is gorgeous.

Right so, back on track. In eighth place (definitely 8th place) is a song that took me right back to childhood. I remember this playing on an ESB ad. I really enjoyed the little slice of nostalgia for this one.

    Green & Red
gets 8th place and scores 13 points.

I am loving a lot of these songs tonight! :)

I thought it was a magnificent song Tusk, you were robbed :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,941 ✭✭✭osh

Is it the ESB ad G&R entered that for, or was it in a movie?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,468 ✭✭✭Ectoplasm

The next song was interesting. I completely agree with the person who submitted this that it's a very well utilised in the scene that it appears in from the movie. I like it but not enough to push it into the top 5.

Also I kept expecting House of Pain to kick in :pac:

In an unbelievably close race at the top of the table,
    ElectricNitwit
is in 7th place with 15 points.

Yeah, I may have overthought this category!

In the end I wanted a song that is integral to the scene, that's as much part of the film as the actors, the setting etc. I recently saw Baby Driver for the first time. It's not the best film but I really loved it and the way it fits around the music is wonderful. This scene in particular takes the brilliant Harlem Shuffle and moulds the entire scene around it, background graffiti and all, its just joyous

    Congrats Baggly!
