This was the song, that made me watch the move once I heard it was in it

I love Ansel Elgort so you’re the real winner to me Osh for having him in a video :o

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,007 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

It was a toss up between those two scenes!
The way that film uses music is great

Well, when I said unbelievably close race at the top I wasn't kidding. This next song comes from one of my favourite soundtracks ever and also a band I love. Ironically the album it's on wasn't one of my favourites when it first came out but it's one that I went back to a few years after it came out and I loved it.

Still love this song and this soundtrack but it lands outside the top 5.

    Baggly
takes 6th place and 15 points

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,007 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Oh Baggly, it is an absolute pleasure to lose to that masterpiece :)

Yeah it was a great soundtrack and ties in well with the filming

I confess I had to google the name there :D

Though I see he was in Fault of my stars, which I had to watch as it was my nieces favorite movie

I honestly didn't expect this one to finish so high when I first started listening. I liked it but it didn't blow me away. I started looking forward to it though. The more I listened the more I liked it.

A very respectable 5th place and 16 points goes to
    Pretzill

Is it the ESB ad G&R entered that for, or was it in a movie?

    The ESB ad

    Poetic license

Agree. I bow to your greater song.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,468 ✭✭✭Ectoplasm

This one was another grower. I thought it seemed a bit bland on first listen as I wasn't familiar with it. The more I listened the more I liked.

    LadySkunk
takes another 17 points for 4th place.

The next song was interesting. I completely agree with the person who submitted this that it's a very well utilised in the scene that it appears in from the movie. I like it but not enough to push it into the top 5.

Also I kept expecting House of Pain to kick in :pac:

In an unbelievably close race at the top of the table,
    ElectricNitwit
is in 7th place with 15 points.

If I'd thought of it I could have gone for this, love it

I love the piano in this song. When I first listened I thought it was too repetitive but I really like how this one builds and adds layers. On top of that, the fabulous vocal stylings of Sinead O'Connor. I really loved this song.

    A second podium finish for
    Tritium
    , in 3rd place with 18 points.

Another song that I didn't know, from an artist that I'm not familiar with but plan to listen to more from. I really loved this song and I'm looking forward to listening to more of their stuff.

    Clarabel
takes 2nd place and 19 points for their trouble.

Well played EN and Molly. Thanks Ecto. I do love that song. Glad it's appreciated by others too :)

So now we have it. The very final song of my first (and possibly only) Walrus!

I LOVE THIS SONG! There's something French and sexy about it and that's not just the name. ;) I love the vocals - very Kate Bush-esque, the beat and the glorious chorus.

In a last minute burst of speed,
    Osh
pushes onto the podium. 1st place tonight with 20 points.

That Agnes Obel song is real different. Love the chorusy bits and the cello

Not the first time I;ve seen Les Fleurs win a walrus category. It really is one of those great great songs!
