Not all teenagers do as they’re told, there’s no need to victim blame this is a horrific gang rape on children,

No one is saying it wasn't horrific, as many posters have said, lets get the actual facts before getting the torches and pitchforks out of the barn.

No one is blaming the children. The only person to blame for an assault is the attacker.
Asking why young teenagers are out so late is perfectly legit.
Their parents are responsible for their safety.

I fear for this country to be honest

It's crimes not getting proper punishment does it to me.

I live not too far from courtown and I can tell you alot of local people wouldn't go down there on their own at night. It's a wooded forest area with a river on one side and the sea the other. Theres no lighting and only last week the district council were bringing forward a motion to block access to cars down there due to anti social behaviour. Its terrible what happened to those children and hopefully the perps will be caught sooner rather than later. Hopefully with time they will get over it but it's been a dodgy area for years.

This happened Sunday. Its almost Wednesday. They'd want to get a move on so. What is it they say about the first 24 hours being the most important in a criminal case?

The girls will have to be interviewed by specialist interviewers in their own time. That's after they are forensically examined and given medical treatment. And that's assuming they are cooperative and able to give anything of evidential value. And the results of the interview will not be made public unless absolutely vital to the investigation.

The unfortunate thing about this is that this kind of crime is not an unusual one. The only unusual thing about it is it made the news.

I fear our judiciary are no longer fit for purpose. The Gardai are trying their best but everyday suspended sentences for sexual crimes and many other crimes by the courts. I've been arguing this over and over again here that it cannot continue. Ireland is becoming lawless. It's heartbreaking too see our lovely little country become so bloody dodgy.

Fully agree. Our judiciary and penal system are way way way too soft.

Maybe a woman did it? No? Why is it always men?

Could have been someone with diabetes. No one ever brings up that possibility.

Could have been the Spanish Inquisition.

Instead of asking on-thread why your posts are being deleted, PM me or another mod

Of course you already know why they are being deleted

This is the first report I have heard of a vicious Leinster-based rape gang. Does anyone know more?

Very likely, but for whatever reason we aren't being told.

Hope these girls get the best treatment and care available and that no other victims will befall this Leinster-based gang.

The mods deleting posts that go against the developing sentiment are complicit in the next gang rape of this nature in the country.

Congrats mods, you genuinely sick people.

There are places you can post where it won't be deleted

    https://www.peoplesrepublicofcork.com/forums/
    and
    https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/

are just two that come to mind.

It doesn't mention locals or number of protestors in that cover. Just that 'Refugee Support' told them a protest happened. No pictures of the protest either.

I'd personally need more information than that to gauge public opinion, but then, my default position with the media is 'do not believe'.

It said locals on the front page. But I guess locals could mean anywhere in Ireland.
I think there is a picture and more to the story but it's behind a pay wall.

Lads, Mods just doing what they are paid to do. Boards isn't a free speech platform. They are liable for what's posted here.

First they came for the socialists...

Just looked at RTE's "news" page. Zero about this

    <quoted post deleted>

Back from France there and there were loads of teenage kids out and about at midnight most nights. No rapes strangely enough.

I didn't spot that on the cover. Could easily have missed it, though I was looking for this information specifically.

The post is deleted now anyway. Must have been dangerous. Hopefully I didn't catch anything by reading It.
