    Hi

Looking for abit if advice regarding a bill pay contract.

My wife took out a contract in 2016 for iPhone 5s at €40pm and because she fell behind more than once and even up to the point where she was out of contract, so my question is can they really continue to send bills despite the service being cut which seems quite bizarre?

    Thanks

The contract remains in place until you cancel, even if the minimum term period has ended. So long as you don't cancel they will keep supplying service and thus will continue to bill for it. Falling into arrears does not cancel it either.

The contract is a minimum of €40 a month for the length of it, regardless of weather you use the phone

She breached her contract with Vodafone so sounds like they limited her service.
At the end of the contract term she has to give a month's notice as she's on a rolling contract.

She could always ask them to backdate the cancellation to when the fixed element of contract ended seeing as she can't make calls.

Tell your wife to stop being so helpless and pick up the phone (your phone) to resolve it. Best doing it before 5pm when all the teams are available.

But even if the contract has lapsed they can continue to charge until you clear the arrears and cancel it thereafter?

She needs to write a cancellation letter.

There would need to be a minimum number of payments before the handset is paid for - a significant portion of the 40 is just repaying the subsidy provided at the time. That is likely what is being billed still
